OK so LOCK does accept MD players just to confirm, its just really hard to depsoit and get support it seems.

may I go off topic real fast and ask how you make your deposits and which do you play at or prefer? PM if you want thanks in advance for the info ill check out cake.

Skillbet accepts players from 28 states. Its not the same as Lock etc but good alternative these days.

Hey Guys! I have been reading all the threads and answers on here and still I'm not sure what to do. I just move to USA/Georgia from Germany for studying reasons and I want to keep on playing online poker. Pokerstars is still availble in Germany where I have been a regular at hyper turbos for quite a while now. I have registered at lock and Carbon to see how it is. Both of these sites have been a big disappointment at sit n goes in general. What site has the most traffic for sit n goes? I mean carbon and lock don't even have enough traffic to open two tables at the same time. What can I do? I really need to keep on playing since I am not allowed to work in the U.S. Thanks for the help up front!

Definitely not the fastest cashouts for American players.

OK so I went ahead and decided to play on cake, and so far I really enjoy it the SnG are very fishy and the support is (Atleast for me) amazing and I ALWAYS so far (5 emails) get a response in a matter of less then an hour today a response in just 2 minutes. So support at Cake is great and it being 1 of 2 of the only places to take players in MD/USA its the best choice since LOCK seems to not even have support.
Thanks for the suggestions i guess Cake will be my new home for now

I really miss FTP and PS tho and the money that FTP still has of mine =(

has anyone had any experiences with TruePoker? i'm on ACR right now and it would be perfect if it weren't for the rake race they're currently having that has 99% of people playing at BBJ tables, which i'm not interested in.

overall i'm very impressed with WPN, i'm just looking to join a different site of theirs so that i can play non-BBJ tables.

True Poker is on the same network (WPN) as ACR. They share the same player pool and tables. Perhaps you should look into Merge or Revolution.

So I've looked at the "Where can US players play?" thread, and I have tried to sign up with a few of them (notably Carbon and 888). Without fail, I end up getting to the part where I add my address, and there is never an option for "United States" and so I cannot register.

Why are these sites listed then, or what am I doing wrong?

Also, could someone explain to me what the rake/rakeback is? (I assume it's some kind of fee based on # of hands played?)

This seems much better placed within that thread, doesn't it?

888 hasn't been open to the US for a few years. As for Carbon, I'm not too sure - have you tried contacting them? What state are you from?

We have a whole forum on Affiliates/Rakeback; I'd suggest starting with the stickies there.

What can you tell him via PM that you can't tell him on the forums, possibly helping others as a result?

As for the post being out-of-date, suggestions of changes would be welcome.

I signed up for Cake. Seems I can play the free games, but under tournaments there are no freerolls available, or in ring games for that matter, that I can see.

I'm thinking about playing online again, and I'm wondering peoples opinion on some of these sites. I live in KY so that limits me to PPN, Revolution, and WPN right?

What would people recommend as far as best skin to sign up, and under which network?

Seems like Lock or Cake are best?

stay far away from Lock/Cake

i'm getting pretty desperate to play poker; my plan was to play a ton this summer. but as my posts in this thread have suggested, i've been having trouble finding a site. i'm a New Yorker, so i don't have many options.

does anyone know if it's possible for someone from another state to operate a poker account while someone else (me) does 100% of the playing? because my friend from NJ offered to open up and run an account for me on a site like Carbon or Bovada while i'd be playing from New York. has anyone ever heard of this/is it a bannable offense? thanks

@SSBM Hax - NYers can play on skillbet. Its different than Lock/Cake/Carbon but seems a lot safer for US players.

Reading all these thread with people having their money stolen or locked away - suddenly I'm not so keen to play online. It seems more problematic than it's worth.

The whole thing I don't understand anyway is how a US Citizen can play poker for money online legally - I thought it was completely illegal. Is it just that a game cannot be operated in the US?

from what i'm seeing, this site doesn't actually offer NLHE but their own spin on the game "without the luck of the draw." i have no idea what this means; am i interpreting it wrong?

Can NJ players play anywhere? According to the sticky, they are restricted everywhere. Which doesn't surprise me, but I was curious if anyone has had success playing anywhere (I see carbon mentioned a few posts earlier)
