Michigan has contacted New Jersey to join their player pool. Apparently they are working on it.

Pennsylvania has stated recently that there hasnÂ’t been any movement at all regarding interstate poker. It is unknown if Michigan or any other state has contacted them.

This is the current list, as I know it, of the legal online sites by state.

Michigan - BetMGM/Party Poker, Poker Stars

Pennsylvania - BetMGM/Party Poker, Poker Stars, Wsop

Nevada Wsop

Delaware Wsop

New Jersey - Wsop,BetMGM/Party Poker, Poker Stars

Questions:

Why hasnÂ’t there been any progress or updates of any kind on the interstate compact?

(Not interstate related) Why hasnÂ’t Wsop gone live in Michigan?

I know some players in Michigan have been contacted by Pokerstars about how an interstate pool could be implemented and how they'd react. So I think it'll be implemented within this year.

Part of legalization of online poker in Nevada is that no HUDs are allowed so unlikely that Pokerstars opens up there. Pokerstars also had a bad actor clause that did not allow them to open up for five years in Nevada though that has passed by now.

New Jersey has the law state that servers must be located in Atlantic City so there could be some barriers there with other states.

Poker though is small potatoes as sports betting and casinos drives 99+% of the profit in the online gambling sector. It makes sense that poker gets little attention as it derives little revenue for operators.

Personally don’t like the idea of sites joining the Nevada pool due to no HUD being allowed.

Pretty sure the only site in NV pool is WSOP though.

I wish more states would come on board and launch poker (obv).

Actually starting to think the ring fencing is a good thing if you’re able to travel state to state and play, because the games are better compared to ACR or other ROW sites.

.
I am a little confused about this statement. If Delaware, NJ, and Nevada are already in a compact how could the server issue affect other states, if it hasn't affected the existing compact?

*I believe Pala Poker also operates in NJ

*NJ is also awaiting a new updated version of WSOP.

*Considering it took a while for WSOP to launch in PA, I'm not surprised it's taking a long time for them to launch in MI. I could see WSOP MI/WSOP NJ (updated version) going live Q2, and other states connecting Q4.

Good luck to us all.

Not sure what the law states in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Connecticut or West Virginia that perhaps there are similar statements in their codification regarding location of servers which would be an impediment towards an interstate compact.

On another note, the parent company to GGpoker was issued a license in Pennsylvania but has yet to open there for whatever reason.
