I think people are so suspicious because of Stars record in that area. Multiple times they promised to reinvest slashed rb/increased rake into promos and they never did. To make it worse they've went the other way and reduced promos to almost nothing.

Unibet seem to be much more trustworthy so it makes sense to give them time to deliver.

Probably not worth mentioning with 2.0 imminent but the sound effect option doesn't appear to be working on the 1.0 Web client. Doesn't matter where it's on or off, sounds still play. All the other options appear to work fine. Using Chrome.

Well if NL100 is his regular game then he'll use it there.

But let's consider your less usual example - you're basically talking about a player says "**** poker, I'm never depositing again after Kanaxis and his NL100 friends took my weekly deposit after 3 days", but suddenly he realises he still has 10 euros of bonus money and gets an NL10 ticket to play the rest of the week. Would you rather this person have the NL10 ticket to donk around with while they calm down, or would you rather have paid 10 euros less rake? If the latter then you're pretty short-sighted.

(not in answer to you) The thing I would like to see would be for the bonus shop to "sell out" of a particular ticket once someone has bought it several times in the same quarter. So if someone is 8 tabling NL4 for 10 hours a day then, yes, they can get some of their "rakeback" in the form of NL4 buy-ins but then you reach the point where the system says "sorry, sold out, why don't you try NL10?"

Yeh, I don't think that helps.

Then there are definitely some people who hear "cut" and then just hallucinate the rest of the words. It kind of makes sense though, because they've already read about what some other sites have done here.

I think of incentives as being positive or negative. This would be a negative incentive, but my normal reaction is to try to find positive incentive instead. So my preferred kind of solution would be "Today we're offering a small group of players 10% off NL10 tickets. You can buy them in the bonus shop for the next 24 hours" or whatever.

The cost for us is tiny, but I suspect it'll motivate people more, and make them feel generally happier about us.

That kind of thing, by the way, is something I've always wanted to work on a lot more. I think there's a lot that you can do with that kind of automated targetted message. Maybe we can finally build something after 2.0...

Kudos to Andrew for showing more patience than I would.
So I have no idea what you are saying? So can you explain this to me? So people like me can understand that? So I mean people who don't speak english as 1st language. So please explain.

And other sites too starting w/ ongame and the essence system. Suppoused to return more if you were a losing player and in the end everybody got less. After that ipoker followed and now unibet. I have zero faith in unibet returning more to the losing players. It's just their word.

We've been doing that from day 1 of the relaunch. We've consistently given more rewards to casual players than any other site:

https://www.unibet.com/promotions/po.../moving-on-up2
https://www.unibet.co.uk/promotions/...ctober-mission
https://www.unibet.co.uk/poker/challenges

And we've consistently given more rewards to players who have recently lost:

https://www.unibet.co.uk/promotions/...double-trouble

Meanwhile:

As an example of some of the **** Unibet has to put up with.....

Quote:
My mum has an account with unibet which I set up for her. I accidentally put in her maiden name so when I sent the usual verification documents I included her marriage certificate to my stepdad proving her change of name, which they said weren’t good enough. They asked for a photo of her passport which was given to them – not good enough. Then they asked for a selfie style photo of her with the passport – not good enough. She wrote to the head of customer services to close the account and forward the £486 in her account. They closed the account and just sent her an email to tell her the account was closed with no mention of the money at all. They then said she needed to ring them up – she is 81 and a bit hard of hearing but she answered all of their questions – not good enough. I went on chat and asked them what was going on, they said that she needed to ring them, I told them she already had, but they had no record of her ringing – although our phone records will show her being on the phone to their customer services for over 10 minutes. I know because I was with her when she made the call.
Any ideas anyone where to go with this???

So "his mum" is 81 years old and desperately wanted to play online poker. At least come up with a better lie as to why you used fake details to gamble on the internet geez.

I searched the text - it looks like its a site where people take offers from sites for +EV sports bets but are too nitty to actually gamble so they lay the bet off on smarkets ffs.

Obviously they get banned when the site works out what they are doing.

IMHO if you are serious about poker then don't do advantage sports betting at the same place you play poker - aka don't **** where you eat.

OK, upon reflection, the RB cuts are not as bad as originally anticipated... But they still remain a small rake increase and should be worded as such, me thinks...

This is it in a nutshell. We can't praise Andrew or blast him as time will tell.
Personally I think it will work out fine based on the trust he's earned on this forum and his decisions in regards to taking care of the players of Unibet.

^ You need to exchange it in the unibet community ticket exchange subforum (and if you've already started playing PLO10 on it you're out of luck).

Hmm, I'm not sure I want to explain effective rake and ecology and stuff. I'd prefer to say "we're moving some money from loyalty, and putting it into a new system that rewards losers", then go into the actual details here & on the community site.

I'm pretty confident that this will work out well. I think that losing players are, traditionally, woefully under-rewarded. It's also the case that regulars are much more likely to quit after going on a downswing than any other time, and this protects them too.

I'm also interested in adding a second double trouble tournament each week, on a different day. The qualification criteria would be the same, and the prize money for each one would be the same. We ought to get more entrants altogether due to the players who can't reliably make Tuesday nights etc. The problem is the money - hopefully by the end of the year I'll feel we make enough gross revenue to be able to handle the extra cost.

Adobe Air is a pile of crap, so it's probably related to that. But it's weird that it suddenly started for you. Were there any changes to your setup lately?

It may be that this thread helps: https://www.unibetcommunity.com/t5/P...ions/m-p/26342
