that thought also crossed my mind, but somehow I think Unibet has a good system, which will "reward" only those who rake the most, and I hope those amounts still are not so good to encourage mass rb grinding.
If you look at challenges, you don't collect points as on other sites just for playing, you have to actually get something done in order to earn them and you can't know how long it will take or how much money you will lose in the process so you can't really aim to play just for rakeback.

But Andrew will know better answer to this..

By that I mean if you reach a certain rake level you get a larger percentage of your losses back if you are a losing player (which must still obviously be less than rake paid) while if you are an overall winning player you are SOL on rakeback EXCEPT for a rakeback for winning players tied to bad beat losses on ALLINS (or something like that to give a slight reward to winning players that takes the sting out of badbeats and has a fun element). Such a system would discourage the Pro grinders from dominating, reward losing players for entering into the breach again and again, and tie rakeback rewards to losses not just rake paid thereby rewarding the players that really need it to keep playing.

Anyway, giving Unibet a first look this week. So far so good.
I really disagree with this. I think a cardroom should take a good distance on who is winning and who is not and just leave this to the players and the game itself (as long nobody is cheating ofc).

I think what Unibet did with his cardroom really nailed it. It seems like a social fb game with a lot of fun, achievements, challenges, leaderboards etc. Game is simple (pools arent segregated into cap NLHE, 50bb NLHE, 100bb NLHE, deep NLHE, zoom NLHE, etc.) and im sure new players prefer it this way.

Reward system is a great work too. You can give a boring flat 30% rb or you can give a really fun mix of bonus, tickets, points + challenges, + extras and still worth 30% back.

Are you going to reduce rakeback(i support this since i poker should be about making money pre rakeback not encouraging rakebackgrinders to switch sites to unibet) when you notice games are getting alot worse ? A trend that myself and some friends are seeing is that the weekends are alot mor reggish than during weekdays. You sir are not alone in this thinking.

I sent Andrew a similar PM a few weeks back because I expect a good size wave of rb machines coming over from Stars. Ironically the best indicator I have of this is very few are talking about Unibet as a viable alternative in the SNE removal threads. That's because poker players are genetically selfish and don't want to share the gem that Unibet is with their peers.

I'm all for reducing rb at the 2.5 million point+ mark. I'm not just saying that because I'll never obtain it but for what rb machines will do to the games. New winning players at say the 200nl games will cause current winners to start losing.. they move down in stakes and then the prior 100nl players also start losing... and the downward spiral continues.

It's true that Unibet does everything possible to not give additional edges to winning players but I think the currently high rb levels might be enough incentive to bring a lot more of these players over.

Here's a reminder - http://www.twitch.tv/unibetpoker is starting from 1445 CET today.

Also, when you ask for a ticket change, please include your alias rather than your username. Including your username is potentially a security problem for you as people might go around collecting them then guessing passwords. The alias is what you're known as on the tables. It doesn't have to be your active alias, just one that's still alive on your account.

Thanks, and 5SNG are 5% rake, 2SNG are 3%. 2SNG are also 1k chips rather than 2k.

They keep updating their program to allow people to cheat on our site, and we keep updating our site to break it. There're always windows here and there where it works though.

I should mention that I've asked them twice to stop supporting our site. Most recent attempt on Monday when we released our update, no reply.

The reason the site is doing well at the moment isn't down to an influx of super high rakers, I don't think this is having a big impact at the moment. I also think that confirmation bias causes people to always think the games are getting worse. It's not to say that the games aren't getting worse, but it IS to say that it's too soon to tell. I'd need a lot of data to be able to tell that from my side, and I can see every hand at every stake.

Over the 21 months or so that we've been live, I think the games have got worse in a few places. That's why we've added table caps, have gone away from pure rake-races, etc. But it takes a long time to see these changes.

A big example of us looking at this is the Moving On Up promo - it's overly valuable for low stake and low volume players, and that's on purpose. We're injecting a lot of money into NL25 and under, which makes those games softer. Ultimately it'll make bigger games softer too, as people who "shouldn't" move up. This is an ecology and retention promo over anything else.

In the long term, I definitely want to decrease the top end rb% equivalent in Challenges. I'd like to pay out more to losing players instead of high rakers. If we cut the top end by (say) 25% relative to what it is now, we'd spend that money on losing players instead. But that's going to be long-term, not next quarter or anything.

To some extent you can see this philosophy already, with Super Double Trouble. Right now we spend a significant proportion of our gross revenue on promos for players who lost, I don't think any other site does this.

This is also part of the reason why we made it easier to play these events - we mail qualified players, we allow tickets to be credited upon login at any point the following week, and we extended expiry.

I'd like to make some promos that aim more at players who lose, but it's quite a fine line. Having a promo that says "are you crap at poker? this promo is for you!" isn't much of a sales pitch. Double Trouble works because good players have losing weeks too, so it compensates for their bad luck, which helps them feel better as well.

So it'll take us a while to come up with good ideas there, if anyone has any promo suggestions feel free to post.

There's definitely a balance that we need to find. I want to reward high volume players because we need them. But I also want to reward losing players because we need them too.

And yes, you're getting to the heart of a lot of what we wanted to do. We wanted simple games that people could easily get into, and we wanted a fun loyalty scheme that made people want to play just a little bit more. I think that both are big sources of churn.

Ye i know But its like Sect7G says. Alot of pokerplayers are selfish people and to succeed in poker a thing like that is a plus but i am not that kind of person

I think the ecosystem unibet has will suffer alot with the influx of alot of Rakebackgrinder mass multitableing nits. And like Sect7G also stated can cause a waterfalleffect all the way down to 4nl when regs that are not winning anymore are going to drop stakes.

I am also glad I am not the only one that is noticing this trend. Reducing the rakeback and capping it on the Pokerstars level (2016 level) might fix things otherwise bad things could happen if every table will be reg vs reg.

Hope to get some good and constructive discussion going because i love unibet and i would hate to see rakebackgrinders destroy yet another pokersite :'( .

Thanks for the feedback Andrew Conformation bias might be in play aswell but the plan to reduce rakeback for the top end and distribute it to losing players seems a very good path to follow to be competitive in the long run
