Yeah, it's true the volume seemed decent. I wonder though, if there weren't many confused regs, turned to tilted regs in the beginning of this month when the progress didn't carry over.
Ofc it's not unheard of that people act very irrationally even in big samples, when the incentives should clearly point to the contrary. It's also possible that with last quarter being the first with the new system, many players hadn't really looked it through, and just grinded it out their usual way out of old habit. I can't not believe that the uncertainty of the long milestones will show a decline at the ends of quarters eventually. But time will tell.
To end on a pessimistic note
one ****-in-the fan scenario came to mind as well: If the network experiences bad connection problems within the last X days, when people have planned out to play Y hrs per day for those X days to reach a milestone, it's not gonna be pretty. Obv more so, the closer it is to the end.

True, although they do get data for that exact thing (running a race at the end of quarter). That's a fine solution imo, if the races coincide like that always and it proves to work. No problem with providing incentive to counter disincentive.
