Because I remembered someone asking the above question. I have paid $43 in rake!!! I know this would never happen on unibet. So yes, I think the rake is low here, in comparison.
Can't wait for a few weeks time if I've managed to survive the rake on the other site, and profit with the bonus - and I can move back.

Sure, done.
It's the lowest of any site in the world at NL4 and NL10 - it's about a quarter the rake compared to iPoker, say.
It's true that we rake a bit more at higher stake games. I want to rake roughly the same amount in terms of bb/100 at each stake. The rest of the industry rakes a LOT more at lower stake games than at higher.
The reason I want to do that is that I want people to move up. If we rake less at NL10 then more of them will graduate to NL25. They will stay alive longer, we will then rake them more normally there, and the games will be much softer. Seems to me that this is a win all round.
We also give quite a lot more back to lower end players than any other site. Again, this is because we think it keeps them alive longer - that is the purpose of almost everything on the site.

I like the gamification side to this. And it'd be quite fun to have a tournament where, for that tournament only, everyone had a frog avatar and all they could say was "ribbit", or something along those lines.
I played a bit of Hearthstone. It has a limited chat system where you can only say "hello", "well played" etc, and people still use it to troll each other. I think it might be too hard of a problem to overcome.
I think this'll take a long time. We've got a pretty firm roadmap for the next 3-6 months and there's an absolute ton of stuff we couldn't fit in. It's much easier to come up with good ideas than it is to implement them.
We should have Android tablet support for the end of Jan, if QA goes well. Mobile depends on what we can display properly, so we shall see.
What happens if you have the volume maxed on the music app? I'm trying to get a feel for whether the sound is too high normalised to the system sound or not. I think that adding a control might make the table too complicated - this is an area I'm pretty worried about. I think we need to rationalise it a bit at the moment, so that we have groups of dropdowns or similar.
I'm sorry to hear that. Could you contact regular support please? They have more manpower (lots) than I do (1). I don't want to handle the first instance of refund requests in this thread.

I guess a better reason is that I'm worried what'll happen if we make it easier to play more tables. I think this could work better with a lower table cap. I pay quite a lot of attention to the ecology of the site and one way to counter-act the games getting tougher would be to reduce the table cap. I don't want to make it that the cap is 6 or whatever as then people will multi-site. But having it at 12 might be a good compromise between usability and ecology.
As for bots - I am prepared to bet quite a lot that there're things you can figure out from button and mouse presses that are hard to fake. It's not going to be an insurmountable problem, but it's going to make life harder. I think that ultimately all we can do is make it much harder to run a bot on our site than on our main rival's (whoever that might be).
We do do other things to detect bots though: I don't want to leave anyone with the impression that our only method is to look at people clicking mice.
What kind of machine learning have you done? I spent some time evolving a poker bot with a friend for fun, with genetic algorithms. We never turned it loose on a site of course. I think that the set of skills it took to build that weren't too related to understanding fraud prevention or bot detection, asides from what any smart person can figure out pretty quickly.
We added enter-to-bet today. I think that one was definitely a no-brainer.
The milestone counter appears to slow everything down a bit. How does it look if you hide the counter on tables and don't minimise the lobby?
I think this is a problem for PLO in general and it's something I've spent some time thinking about.
I don't think it's such a problem for NL25 though. We rake pretty much the same in terms of bb/100 at NL4 to NL200 (NL400 is a lot less as the cap is hit much sooner).
