The reason i just logged in here into the thread is to say I think it's pretty amazing how far Unibet has come in such a relatively short period of time. From the day you launched to today you have invented a completely new poker platform, not only this which in itself is no mean feat, but you have created a
successful platform.
I have played on most poker sites, ipoker and the custom sites like full tilt, party poker and pokerstars. When I now think about what site I want to play on, Unibet is the first site that always comes to mind.
If i have money in an ewallet, it's going onto Unibet.
Why is this, I wondered recently? Here are a couple of reasons that came up
The site seems fair and ethical. You seem to care about your players, I'm not deluded of course every site has to make money from it's player base, but the company has gone to great lengths to try to create a level playing field for everyone. Your promotions reward your micro players nicely instead of excluding them like most other sites do. This makes micro players feel welcome on the site.
The gameplay is first class. The avatars and backgrounds create a truly unique and amazing game play experience. I have played on PKR - and I can honestly say in terms of gameplay and graphics I prefer your software. When I was younger I used to like games, and the ideas of a virtual environment like PKR is one that I thought would have always won my vote over a 2d game, but somehow the experience of playing on Unibet is just superior - I enjoy it more.
- Tickets / notifications. The system of ticket notification, and achievement accomplishment - is brilliant. There's nothing quite like being in the middle of a session and getting a little drop down box telling you, you've just accomplished something. It's really awesome.
- No chat. There's no abuse. No berating fish. No swearing by a player that's on tilt. It's just a well behaved and well ordered play experience. At a future release providing you can switch them off if you want so you don't see them if you just want it like it is now, I think some basic interaction would be great. Maybe a selection of fixed things you can say like 'Good luck' - 'ready to go' - 'I'm taking this down' or things like that. I think this has scope for gamification too, you could reward extra speech phrases to players who reach certain levels or get accomplishments and this doesn't directly affect play so players that haven't unlocked every phrase wouldn't be at a play disadvantage.
- Unibet Open - general all around presence of Unibet. Even for those of us that have never been to a Unibet event, it feels good to be playing on a site that is a part of bigger things. It's also motivational to think one day with the right application we could work ourselves up to being in contention to qualifying for one of these events.
- Average player skill / style. Unlike some other sites Unibet isn't full of nits (at least up to 50nl which is what I have played). There are always players around that actually play poker and get involved in hands. This applies to SNGs also.
- The software is world class. It's smooth. Immersive and quick now.
Finally it's great that the site is evolving and I hope this continues, I imagine eventually this will slow down when most of Unibets vision has been achieved, but for those of us that have been playing on the site a few months and enjoy it, it's really great to watch the next big idea announced and then see it implemented in the site.
The one thing I'm really looking forward to is Android support, but I know that'll arrive eventually.
Apart from the chat idea i mentioned and android support one other piece of wish list feedback that probably would be super easy for developers to implement is volume control. I know you said you don't play with sound
- but unibets sounds are really cool and I like playing with them on, problem is if I want to listen to music while playing they are a bit loud, would be nice to be able to volume control them separate to your main system volume.
Thanks for everything, by way of support you've given me since I joined in this thread - and for such a great site.
