FWIW, I agree with a lot of what RK has said above. I would have given up on satties completely if the tickets had to be used immediately. Being able to break the tickets down makes the variance in results almost bearable. It's a tricky issue for the site though.

Constant disconnections tonight when playing some sngs on a Samsung Tablet S2. This is a long standing problem for me where I have to restart my device. It undoubtedly affected my results. I used to have this same problem when playing on a Kindle Fire, the app would just freeze and I'd have to reboot my device by which time I'd usually lost a fair amount of chips.

I have complained about this in the past but Andrew dismissed it as high ping which was strange as my ping was quite normal and I had no internet connection problems whatsoever.

Hi,

The UK tour satties are indeed very regheavy these days. It even doesn't matter which stake, except the 10eu last chance due to the new players their tickets. I think, just as Remco says, that the problem could be solved by promoting the UK. Give new players not a 10eu ticket, which you could only see back in the final if they win, but give them 2x4eu for example. Also a promotion or some tickets in the challenge rewards could help the field.

All in all, in my opinion there are better solutions than preventing players from breaking down their tickets.

Have a good sunday!

I agree with Remk.

No way I would have played 4 of 5 UK tours last year if wasnt for the ability to break down tickets.

This month I got my son and friend to sign up for Unibet and the first thing I did was get them to split the 10e to 10x1. If they lost the ten they would never play that game again but now with 10x1 they have a chance of becoming regfish in the UK tour sats.

To balance the regs vs recs, its better to find a way to get more recs to play than reduce the regs.

1:45am UK time.

Perhaps you could run a "Late Night PLO Prize Drop" promotion or something of that nature?

Hello,
first of all i would like to say that i really like the whole UNIBET team and i never doubted about their work organizing UO events, but i jus can't imagine how can you charge us for around 1290e for 4night stay? Is it ok for you? Maybe you, or someone elese, who is in charge can tell in details what kind of rooms are we getting and so on?
Facts: Tournament - 1100dol ~ 960e; we get 750e cash; the rest 1290e goes for...?

hotel prices depends on room type, but you can find for 230 with all the taxes (191 + 39 taxes). I'm not saying that these are the room types we are getting, but i'm sure Unibet will tell all the details.

1290€ = 4 night; Breakfast and dinner (I guess dinner only for one person as usual) and player party.

It sounds a lot, but if you check the Wynn at booking.com or somewhere else, you can see that the rooms there pretty expensive, and also 59 square meter big. My flat is 52 sqm btw
I would never ever spend this much money on a hotel for 4 nights, but what can you do?

ps.: I just checked if I would like to book it for those 4 nights I would have to pay 987€ total, without breakfast. Considering this, 1290€ with 2 meals/day seems fair. But I always tought if you book this much room you'll get some discount.

Travel money received. Thank you. I think after booking my flight I'll have a bit left over for airport transfers.

Just need a bit of information regarding the actual nights we stay. Fri-Mon is most suitable personally I think. Fly out Friday morning UK time and arrive in Vegas Friday afternoon. Planning on playing the Day 1B which is the Saturday. Flight home Tuesday afternoon.

If you ask for Day 1B, your hotel nights will probably be like you just wrote
But I guess Unibet will contact everyone soon.

COMPLAINTS

Tournament: $1.100 = €954 (with current exchange rate)
Travel Expenses: €750

This makes a total of €1.704 and I assume that the 4-night stay is costing €1.296 per person?

I made a research right now and realized that I can book as an individual person the exact same dates with a cost of €720 from booking.com for a 4-nights stay at Wynn.

I assume that Unibet could do better than me by booking ~200 rooms and not one…
However this is €720 without the resort fees. The resort fees are $39/day so let’s say €35/day.

Here is the booking link: https://booki.ng/2u3yHJW

So a 4-night stay booked by a simple individual person for a 4-nights stay at Wynn will cost €720+€140 = €860 (booked by a simple individual person).

But the money withheld from the package for accommodation is €1.296 which is about €450 more…

Is the dinner for one person costing us €114/day ? If so then please I would like to pass on this (FOLD) and have the option to choose myself where to have dinner.

ANOTHER CONCERN:

The tournament starting stack is 20K and not 30K like it used to be in all UO events so far. The Day1 levels are 40 min and not 60 min like they used to be in all UO events so far.

Seems to me like a turbo event and I can’t help it but to feel somehow like a sheep regarding all this.

So the qualifiers are going to travel a 20-hours flight in order to play a super-turbo event which is costing approx €954 and at the same time their accommodation is costing approx €1.296 ?

We will spend 90% to 120% of the travel expenses money for our flight (depends on starting location). So I would assume that no money will be left from the package in order to take a taxi from the airport (like someone else mentioned). So someone wins a 3.000 EUR package and he still needs more money to actually make it to the event? How much more money? If we where rich we wouldn’t play qualifiers at the first time. I would just book for myself and make a direct buy-in if that is the case… (and I would try to find a tournament non-turbo with a better structure).

Unibet Open is my favorite event and I have managed to play in a lot of them. It is always a unique and great experience to take part. I know almost all the stuff in person and I would like to state that all of you people are wonderful and really professional! No doubt about that!

But this specific event disappoints me in many levels as stated above.

Don't know about other nationalities, but add to that the 30% tax withhold for any cash winnings over 5k I am a Canadian, and no, I would never see that 30% back, believe me.

This said, looking forward to playing the UO in Bucharest in November.

You asking how much more money. I can give example from Kuopio (Finland) to Las Vegas. I just searched flights and found cheapest for those days 1221e total from momondo. So i got 750e for expenses and even without all other travel costs like taxi etc i have to pay already 471e from my own pocket.

And we have to pay taxes also in Finland if we win something. So looks like that ill pass also. Considering transfering package to Bucharest.

I posted a list of countries on the treaty aka no tax list earlier in the thread. Finland is on it along with most major EU countries and the UK (Do I have to say that now #Brexit? ). Assuming the Wynn can still dish out ITINs (post from their 2+2 rep in May said they could) then everyone in the following list should be fine.

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Russia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

Norway and Canada seem like the only glaring omissions to that as far as player pool goes.

So unibet will pay our winnings online? Or how you can say that Finland is taxfree? ITIN doesnt take away that fact that we need to pay taxes from all winnings in Vegas if we get it paid in Vegas in cash. And not sure even does it help that if its paid online because quite sure that our tax persons look just that event is placed in Vegas and its not tax free in Finland.

When I say "booked by an individual person" I try to emphasize into the fact that I am not a company like Unibet and that I can still book the hotel room for this price. I also imagine that Unibet could do better than me regarding the negotiating of the room price for mass booking.

I was trying to say the US government won't tax you 30% if you have an ITIN, individual home countries tax deductions on gambling winnings are always going to be in effect so having a moan about it for the Vegas stop seems pointless when the same thing would happen at any otehr UO stop

I have pinched a section from https://www.winthebet.com/lasvegaswinningstaxation.php to hopefully explain it better.

"In the event of a large win, in order to receive a hand pay from the casino that is tax free and not subject to a withholding fee, citizens of these countries (Countries in list from previous post) will be required to obtain an ITIN-Number. In general the more reputable Las Vegas casinos will acquire this number on your behalf once you have filled in a few forms. Once you have this number you will be able to walk into any casino with your passport, play and if you win claim your tax free payouts."

Edit: I should point out this is all based on some googling and 2+2 forum searching, Unibet are probably the best people to ask as they'll have had to go through all this already before the stop was announced
