Two months ago i found an old Electrum wallet with some leftovers and decided to give the site a try as I hadn't been there since the old software they had back in the day. I had a beer too many and lost like 400 chips and forgot about the room until I came across their name yesterday and decided to gamble away the final 200 chips and stay away but I have to say: I haven't had this much fun playing poker in a very long time!
I started playing some cashgames which at the start weren't full yet but as time progressed there were multiple tables going. In the mean time I was waiting for The Daily Crumb (750GT). I had a good start and managed to take it down in the end, adding 285 to the balance.
While playing the tourney I found a very cash game table where even 4bet pots were going 3way. Not your standard nit stuff but players who were actually battling it out for every chip on the table and it was a truly epic experience. Sure, winning is an essential part of having a good time and I managed to profit in the end. Here, really every pot was splashed with chips, people shoving 2 players of of pots with a missed AK in a 4way pot on the turn. It's like the local bar game full of testosteron instead of the grind that most bigger rooms have become these days. It's because of that grind between regs I quit playing 5 years ago. I love the Doyle Brunson way of playing the game (I always have an out!), but I hate playing a table full of Phil Helmuths (You can't call a raise with a queen and a ten!). I must have won like 300+ chips, ending the evening 7 chips shy of 800.
The only annoyance in policy was not being able to use the chat until you get 50 krill. It's probably to keep beggars away from the chats, but then at least give the newbies some preset buttons like "NH", "TY" and so on so they can at least respond to the people talking to them about the hands. I got to the 50 krill after I already won the tourney and people were slowly going offline. When I finally was allowed to speak there were very few people to talk to.
The software (I used the browser version) runs very smooth and almost feels like running a regular downloadable client and I loved the ease with which I was switched back and forth between my tournament table and cash game table. When picking 4 color deck there seems to be some lag switching from one table to the next, you'd only see one card and have to wait for the other to appear, but that only happened occasionally and was really the only bad thing in the client. I just switched back to regular cards and it was fixed
I will definately come around more often, but only if I don't have to work the next day since the peak hours were like 1AM - 6AM last night. Can anybody shed some more light on what time the room gets going during the week and are there specific days that the site has a crowd going? During my daytime (right now) there only seem to be some babystake games going. I would really love to know when the room is at its best as I will definately be there in advance to help starting some tables (they give bonus rakeback for that!). This is a great place and I am surprised that so few Americans are still there. Maybe it's because it was a tuesday.
Thank you guys for the great fun you provided for me, keep up the good work and see you soon!
