I think it's fine, even though I've had a player on a black market site speak in great detail about how he wanted to "r*pe my mother to death" *at a $2 HU SNG table*.

I personally don't like chat being disabled on Bovada, because it heightens my paranoia of collusion / shadiness, even though if it were enabled it would have no real bearing on it being more or less legitimate either way.

There is a W2-G tab somewhere in the PC version. Not sure what triggers that for poker. The easiest would be Jan 1 balance is $x.xx more than Dec 'net' balance when considering deposits and withdraws. The casino side should be pretty easy since it should be event driven, but I don't know for sure .. not a slot guy.

I've had no issues playing PC or App versions for poker other than 'lobby' issues. It's like they are trying to push you a certain direction when you log into the App.

The do 'check' your location status randomly while your playing as I had turned my GPS off one time and a message came up prompting me to turn it back on. GL

I think chat is fine .. some sites have a block option for specific people or a 'report' option if someone is getting out of line. In PS PC version at least you can tab to a different information box if you don't want to see the chat box. GL

"I hope your baby gets cancer." Who remembers that one?

I was pretty stoked to see the MICOOP announced. A month plus of tourneys.

Have enjoyed playing all you degenerates on Stars again! PT4 is not working on MacOS for me even after setting HH and all that. I get no HUD and eventual crash, does anyone have this working?

Also I was in a Spin and got briefly disconnected, had to play the rest of the game with invisible hole cards. That was the only software issue I had the whole weekend but it's enough to make me reconsider playing spins to clear the bonus.

...

You should submit a bug report to PT4 so their support can try and assist you or document any bugs for their MAC developer(s).

Google the Michigan tax laws for amateur gambling. Be prepared to cry.

I am going to assume that most will just report their net wins & hope the state never asks the sites for their records.

Having chat is good. Pokerstars Michigan has a 'block chat' feature (PC: right click player, and select block chat).

If chat gets out of line, you can email Pokerstars regarding the issue (PC: Help; contact us). You can provide chat abusers username, tournament/table #, and a brief message. Pokerstars will send you an email regarding any action taken.

just had my first issue. wifi verification that sat me out of each table. other than this one instance it's been solid.

Been great game so far. See you at tables @8MileBaby

I have had 0 disconnects, the remember me is a bit hit and miss.

I must say I love seeing these guys on the PLO tables with vpip/pfr/3bet of 100/90/33.....

I have had no issues. Have not changed anything about the tables except setting preferred seat. Auto buyin, remember me, sit out/in all tables, changing the preflop buttons, all work fine.

I also enabled the PIN for extra security until my RSA token comes in the mail.

I’ve done a bit of research and can’t find anything substantial on “cash game” players. I don’t play much tournament poker and it seems most information is geared towards that.

When you say most players will only claim their “net wins” I believe I would be in that category. For instance if I played cash throughout all of 2021 and never withdrew, at the end of the year I would open up pokertracker, withdraw my profit and then claim that. I’m not sure of how else to do that. If I sit at a table and my first hand the table folds to me am I expected to claim the small blind I just picked up?

I have never bothered since I play micros and its mostly while testing HM3 for my job but my understanding is you are supposed to total up every session cash in/out, which should be basically the same as net won afaik or the w2g from stars or their playing history audit. There is a Tax sub-forum here with stickies. If I end up depositing more and playing above plo2/nl2 now that it's legal here I may have to read up on this (and cryptos) next year but I haven't even finished this years taxes at this point.

I personally love it. Although having the ability to turn off chat or block players is a must.

You have to claim the winnings regardless of what you withdraw

On 12/31/21, the amount you won during the year is taxable

Not sure if things changed but technically if you weren't a 'pro' then they wanted you to track all your 'session' wins and put that as earnings .. Then, IF, you could itemize your 'session' losses would be put in that area.

Now with the larger standard deduction making it harder to itemize, you may or may not get to realize those losses as much. I think Michigan for a time was telling you to add back in any gambling losses that were used on a Federal return.

Ignorance is bliss for sure. If you keep or can show 'simple' records it really shouldn't be an issue.

That's also why you see people combing trash cans for 'loser' keno/scratch off/lotto tickets since those can be used to offset losses as well.

I know some casinos wanted your Player's Card when cashing out more than $3000, but it's 'moving' $10K or more that has to be tracked/reported by the 'moving' entity.

I know of a person who hit really big at Craps but was only trying cash out like $8K that day. They actually came up to him and asked 'where's the rest?' and wanted him to cash out for the whole amount. He had given chips to another guy in the bathroom as well, but the cage didn't say anything when he cashed out $4k. He told them he was coming back later to play more and they apparently didn't go for that for some reason.

We can all wait and see. Anything I've ever got from a casino was incorrect for the most part, usually giving me credit for more action than I gave them, so it was actually in my favor. GL

PS .. and yes, your poker uses 'cash accounting', so it doesn't matter where it is on Dec 31.

As far as taxes, amateurs can't deduct their losses, right? I took that to mean that if you lose $500 one day and then win $1000 the next, you have to pay taxes on the $1,000 win. That seems crazy though. Is that right? Can't be right. I always filled as a pro, however, and my accountant did all the work. Or maybe it means they can't carry a loss over to next year.

Hey Fellow MI players,

My friend is dealing with an issue, the client is not working right - I know there was a new version today/yesterday, not sure if that is the issue. Anyone seeing issue below ?

After playing 30 minutes, a window pops up - "error occurred, restart client" and when he hits the "okay" - you can hear tables but can't see them. If you try opening a table, error comes up again and need to restart. It always happen with 30 minutes of playing.

He has reinstalled the client twice tonight and today plus using a brand new laptop bought last week. This error still occurs which is weird and the error window is not much. This laptop is only for playing poker so not many programs on it.

Any ideas ? He has submitted a ticket but have heard that customer support is not that great. Is there a Pokerstars agent on this board/thread, would love to hear from them ?

Thanks for any help

I think/hope the $125k GTD Main Event is going to have at least a $200k prizepool.
