According to the official Twitter account of Party Poker, they shut down because of the small number of players in those countries.
There are quite a few Japanese rec players in Pokerstars and mobile apps. They had the potential to move to partypoker. From a variety of perspectives, including support, deposits and withdrawals, and identification, it was clear that they did not put any emphasis on the Japanese. So there was no possibility for Japanese players to move to partypoker. But partypoker is a European poker room, so I understand.
After 2020, live casinos will be legalized in Japan and will probably be one of the major venues for live tournaments in East Asia, I'm curious about the idea of party poker.
