Well from Party's perspective it isn't going to be a good thing if they lose a big proportion of their traffic at the $11 SNGs and upwards... I'm not against rake-reduction (and have even stood up for people here who everybody is flaming before on the subject), but I am against watering down of player pools:
Four years ago Pacific decided to offer so many game types it became impossible to multi-table there anymore and I moved to Party... If Party goes the same way then I'll just be forced to move again (as I'm sure many other regs will...).
There's no way regs are just gonna stay and say to themselves: "oh well, I used to play 12 tables but since I can't I'll just stay and play the 5 that's available..." - they are just going to leave and find a new site where they can play as many as they want... Then after they've left the next lot will be asking themselves: "I used to play 8 tables, should I just just stay and play the 4 that's available or find a new site?", and so on.

Yeah, back in the day Party offered nothing below $5 SNGs, $0.5/$1 LHE and $25 NLHE (and they were the biggest site still).
They also offered only a single NLHE SNG format (as opposed to 3/4 like now: Regular, Normal, DoN, Turbo) and had about 5-10x the player pool.
