Hey fellas, it's been a while. Very very glad to see the recent significant improvement to cashout times. It's certainly about time! I did cashout reports for nine full months without any noticeable change in check processing times, and only a shuffling of other types of processing times from one method to another. Towards the end of that time I managed to empty out my roll on Carbon, and did only a few reports since then.

I am mostly writing to let you guys know that I no longer feel that I have the time to do the cashout reports, at least not at this juncture. It's good to see that, somewhat coincidentally things seemed to get better just as I was tiring of it. I kind of wish I had the energy to make a full report and show an actual number that would please everyone but, alas, I don't.

I want everyone to know that in my opinion, it was fully reasonable for anyone to have whatever doubts that they had about this site's solvency and ability/willingness to pay. You were not being a troll, despite what Khan would say. I really don't care what Khan says. He knows what he knows, but as players, we were only able to make assumptions based on our experiences. I'm truly happy that things are running somewhat more smoothly on the cashout end. However, when it comes to the site as a whole, I consider them a very shady site. I still do not trust them and the whole "They've paid everyone for 10 years" argument means next to nothing in my humble opinion. Why? Because everyone lives until they die. Every business thrives or prospers until it doesn't. One of these days Microsoft will no longer exist, though it may be decades, or who knows, centuries into the future. One of these days Pokerstars won't exist, and you better believe it: one of these days Merge network will not exist. This does not mean they are insolvent. It just means that when things look bad, it is perfectly reasonable to wonder if they truly are bad.

My point is simply this: The poker climate in the United States is truly a **** show, and we must all tread carefully. Do not ever let anyone coerce you into denying your doubts about a shaky situation. From even the well researched player's perspective, it is never clear what is truly going on when checks take an average of 3 months to process for so long.

That said, I do want to mildly apologize to anyone if my pessimistic view of Carbon from several months ago contributed (along with the view of others) to the swaying of your view of what was going on in a direction that you now wish you hadn't taken it. Of course I realize it wasn't any majority of my doing, but I was a part of the camp that believed Carbon was going to stop paying by now, which it obviously hasn't.

I do not, however, apologize to Khan. In fact I think Khan owes lots of people a perpetual apology for being such an ******* when dozens and maybe hundreds of players had legitimate concerns about the safety of their funds, and instead of leaving it at his opinion, he accused people of being trolls. Totally uncool, sir.

Anyway, I'm busy trying to juggle a few jobs, play music and still have time to play some poker. It doesn't seem quite as easy for me to do the reports, so I will for now call it a day. I'm happy things are looking better (they are, right?) and if for any reason they slip again I may be inclined to step back into the ring to help give another look at what is the real situation.

Run well everyone, and best of days to you.

Definitely agree with most of this.

I think everyone can agree now that cashouts are looking far better now than they did in 2015. But that absolutely doesn't excuse how bad they were last year, and the complete lack of any reasonable excuse or explanation. As I've said before, it would have been somewhat understandable if it was only a problem for U.S. players, but the fact that they were slow-paying players in countries without gambling regulation issues throws any excuse they could have out the window.

As derSchwartz said, the "we've always paid people before" argument is a terrible one - if anyone disagrees with that, I'm sure we can find you a nice ponzi scheme to invest in. We may never know what was going on behind closed doors with their finances - maybe they were completely, 100% fine the whole time, maybe they weren't. Maybe they were risking player funds to keep the site afloat, maybe they weren't. It's not like their rubber stamp regulator in antigua is going to make sure our money is safe.

Again, I'm very glad the cashouts have improved, and I surely hope they will continue this way. I still am very unhappy about the opportunity cost of not having my money available to me for the last ~7 months, and am still waiting on receiving the majority of it.

CIH today from 12/29. It was a max check, and they did not charge the 3% fee. I'm guessing they are counting it as my "first free annual" even tho request was made last year.

Interesting, have never seen them say before that they may be more likely to give Bitcoin withdrawals to people who use it as a deposit option. Still a bit opaque, but what they used to say was absolutely nothing at all about their criteria for granting players the Bitcoin withdrawal option.

Wonder if they're eventually going to try to shift more players towards BTC to save on processing fees.

How long ago was that, though? Possible they changed their policy recently, though you can never know for sure what black magic guides the Carbon cashout lottery.

Maybe they have a list of players they like, players they don't like, and the rest fall onto neutral territory, but you've found yourself on the wrong list. Or maybe it's just a comical mix of incompetence and disorganization. We may never know.

I emailed Carbon about BTC withdrawal option, and was told my account is under review, and if enabled, it would be available in 24-48 hours. (FWIW, the email also said I HAD previously deposited with BTC before, which is INCORRECT as I haven't made a deposit in 3 years, and have a balance of $0.12)

I see there is a 5% fee on e-wallet withdrawals, so I assume this applies to BTC? If so, that's INSANE considering it should currently cost them about $0.04 to process it!

That should count as your "first free annual" since a similar thing happened to me and it seems they count the withdrawal from the date it's actually processed, not requested.
