Whether an offshore poker site offers or allows rakeback is immaterial to me. I'm well versed in the pros and cons of a site offering rakeback (and yes, there are cons!).

The absence of rakeback does not necessarily mean that a site is good or bad, for me, or for you. My business, since you've referred to it, does not work solely with poker sites who offer rakeback. That is not now, and never was, a criteria for review or coverage.

What is relevant is that Merge Gaming (Carbon, PlayersOnly, Sportsbook) have broken tens of thousands of contracts in the past few years. Furthermore, they have been kicking off winning players from the site for four years now. Now that I'm out of the picture, I can't help anyone who was unfairly targeted get reinstated.

It is clear to me that the current management of Merge Gaming does not care about poker players and has no desire to grow their player base. They use the poker room for the sole reason of feeding their casino and sportsbook. I doubt they even turn a profit on poker at this point given from what I see. It's all about funneling money into the SB/C operations.

So no, I do not recommend playing on this network at this time. And no, it's not because they ceased offering flat rakeback 4 or 5 years ago.

Diamond was obviously referring to the fact that Carbon discontinued their affiliate program as to why you wouldn't recommend it. Makes sense to me.

As somebody who has actually played a considerable amount of time on the site over the past couple of years, I'm completely comfortable recommending it.

What Kahn says is correct for the most part but there is still money to be made on Carbon. However, last I heard if you don't already have a Merge account they don't accept any new US players.

Carbon is paying out via Bitcoin in a very short timeframe and unless you play 10 or more tables at the time it's definitely worth depositing if you already have an account.

Several months ago, Merge resumed accepting new U.S. players.

I'm just trying to get $200 on carbon can anyone help? I did it along time ago using circle then block chain but circle doesn't work anymore. Coinbase won't accept my address with my bank card for some stupid reason. I don't mind paying $25 transfer fee or something. Is there another quick and easy way to deposit?

Do credit/debit cards still work?

Yea 2-3 weeks. Got one within past couple weeks.

You should definitely email them once you get it. To get credited the amount they're going to inevitably short you on your bank wire.

Thanks for the heads up. Bank wires have a 3% withdrawal fee, can i ask how much you got shorted beyond that? Was Carbon fine refunding you that amount?

Yes, Kahn, I agree with many of your statements and tbh I feel you are a fair person and have the players interest at heart.

Would someone give me an update on the turn around for BTC withdrawals from Merge right now?

I've switched to BlockChain > Circle for withdrawal due to Coinbase putting all transactions on hold and their IRS issues.

Are there any good alternatives to Coinbase to get btc onto blockchain?

Been ~1 day for me the past few months.

Coinbase, along with every other exchange put their transactions on hold for good reason. They'll be back to normal in the next day or so. IRS concerns are valid, I guess.

There's really no point in even trying. Exchanges aren't processing deposits/withdrawals. Give it a day or two.

If you must, you can submit a request, but Carbon is likely waiting to process withdrawals as well.

Thanks for the reply. What would be the best option if i wait it out a day or 2. Is it still okay to send it to blockchain? And after it's in blockchain what wallet would you prefer sending it to so i can get into bank account after? Thanks

Whatever you did before the fork will work fine once everything is enabled on exchanges again.

So if that was poker site > wallet > coinbase then you can do that.

A lot of people on 2+2 seem to think blockchain.info is the only option for the "wallet" step, but there are plenty of other options. Many of which are better.

Do you mind recommending a few? I am not opposed to using others at all especially if it is indeed better. Thanks

https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet
  1. Hardware
  2. Mobile
  3. Desktop
  4. Web

If I wasn't using a hardware wallet and only used bitcoin to transfer to/from poker sites, I'd choose a mobile wallet.

Any particular one you recommend for mobile? As i will be only using it for poker deposits and withdrawls. And thanks a lot for all your help.
