thats awesome, thanks again for doing that Kahn. one last argument for reinstating Badugi tournaments: they'd be really cool if they did it.

Kahn: I think that you should set up a separate help thread.

To be frank, I'm still really pissed off about the pm you sent me the other day. This thread was created as an open and general discussion of Merge. I think that you have overstepped by trying to privately inhibit that discussion. I think that it is a good thing when you help people but in regards to me, you've gone too far. I'm always going to speak my mind and say what I feel the truth is; you should know that by now.

As always, I will talk to whoever I can at this and all the US facing sites, in an effort to make everyone's playing experience better.

Also, the non-holdem tournaments are one of the things that I know are being discussed and hopefully reinstated.

1) I agree, this thread is not the right format to handle issues and I intend to speak to the moderators shortly and see what can be done to streamline the discussions and have more proper categories.

2) I couldn't care less if you are pissed off at me.

3) I do care when you post poorly "researched" data and then speculate about it what I deem to be an inappropriate fashion. And I will continue to point that out whenever I see it. This is a public forum however, I can not stop you. I can only ask you to do more homework before trying to sound authoritative on subjects that you have quite a poor understanding of.

4) There is a reason I sent you a private message. This discussion between us does not belong in this thread and I would appreciate it if we would limit said discussion of our differences in opinion privately as I intended.

LOL, that affiliate kids pm's are legendary. His holier than though attitude is hilarious. I wouldn't let that idiots pm's bother you though, from what I can tell he's done the same thing to many many others here. It's one reason why I wish we could get these damn affiliates out of threads like this. They always steer the discussion in the wrong direction. I know they get their 40% cut from Merge sites, but still, does that give them the right to send harassing pm's to posters here and chastise people in these threads?

If you actually understood my posts you would have seen that you entirely missed the points that I was making and then you simply declared that I was wrong without any explanation whatsoever as if you were the voice of god. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, if you are going to criticize someone else's post you need to actually put some work into stating why you feel the post is wrong rather than making vague and cryptic proclamations.

If you couldn't care less if I'm pissed off at you, why on earth do you think that I would care enough that you are pissed off at me to send me such an insulting pm?

If you are going to refer to me as a troll again you are going to have to do it in these forums, not privately.

This.

Moaning and crying about how bad Merge's MTT schedule is and how poor the VIP rewards has become, will not achieve anything.

At least Kahn is taking proactive actions.

Speaking for myself, I haven't said a single word about the MTT schedule. And my brief mention about the VIP system has been about the general trends that Merge has been taking. That's something we all need to be aware of so we don't once again get blindsided and lose even more money.

A lot of people lost a lot of money on Oct.1 with the VIP change. Actually a heads-up on that change is what I would have considered helpful.

I'm not affiliated with anything. I have no hidden agenda. I'm a player and a journalist with concerns about the direction Carbon is taking. I should be able to write freely in this forum.

Kahn is great when he is helping people but not so great when he is trying to restrict what others say. No one has supported Kahn more than me in these forums when he is in the right. At times, I've endured heavy criticism for defending him. But when he tries to restrict what I say for what might be his own self-interests, that's problematic.

FWIW SantaCruz went pretty hard defending some cheating/multi-accounting PLO8 player.

The cash games are dead, network isn't worth your time, $, or effort. Better options out there. I use to say, hell, who is out there playing on the Chico network they must be idiots. Now I say the same thing about Merge. Merge has cheated it's players over and over again now. They just change the rules anytime they want with no warnings to the players who lose $$$$$$ every time with no recourse to voice their concerns. If you say something negative here about Merge stealing your money the affiliates and their many minions will jump all over you. If it wasn't so funny, it would be sad.

Winning or Bovada are your best options right now. Playing on Lock is probably the only thing more foolish than playing on a Merge skin right now.

He's basically a paid propagandist representing several American facing sites here. He isn't positive for anything but his bank account. He doesn't offer help out of the goodness of his heart, he's getting paid to do so. Just sayin.......

Merge "cheating" their customers: are you talking about lowering the VIP program's rakeback %? Any other instances of Merge "cheating" their customers? Because plenty of poker site actually have cheated and stole from their customers and considering that saying "cheated" in this context is pretty dumb.

Assuming your assumption is correct, Kahn has a financial interest in taking players requests/concerns to decision makers at Merge. So what? If you've taken Econ 101 you understand that scenario is good for players. If he makes more money by effecting changes that players want, who exactly loses in that scenario?

They previously increased the minimum number of points required to make a points-for-cash exchange. Obviously, this required players to save up more points in order to make exchanges. Additionally, players were encouraged by Carbon/Aced representatives to save up points at lower tiers so that they could exchange at a higher rate upon achieving a higher tier in the VIP program.

The result was a large number of unclaimed points being held by players in the VIP program. The changes of October 1st drastically reduced the value of these points with no prior warning.

Call it what you want. I feel cheated.

I think Kahn is very helpful, but I have to agree that it's pretty ridiculous he's allowed to just come into the Merge thread and basically take it over. Bobo and the likes are quick to ban and infract any other affiliate trying to gain customers, yet Kahn can just become the "unofficial Merge Rep". Pretty lol.

Not bashing, just pointing out how contradicting that is. Set up your own thread, make a sticky that says who you are and what you do (so people know you have a bias to particular sites) and answer all the questions you want. This is a Merge discussion for players not affiliates.

Well, I never said it was a sticky and open your eyes. Look at any Merge thread. He is not support, he is an affiliate, which means he makes money from people signing up. Other people aren't allowed to spam the forums, yet he can be "unofficial support". That's fine, I think he is very helpful and there is a place for him here, I just don't think it's in a players discussion forum. It needs to be made clear to people that don't know better that there is some bias to what he says no matter how helpful he is.

On to discussing again. The large buy ins are a joke now with late reg being so long. The $215 high roller is letting people get in with 5 mins left like 6 from the money. Last night when registration ended there was 24 people left and 17 paid. This happens in pretty much every tournament $60+. I can't even play tournaments any more because they late reg til' mid night and I have a job/ life. So with the tournaments unplayable throughout the week and cash games non existent I am forced to grind Bovada and WPN cash. It hurts my soul.

They don't exist atm. Supposedly according to a conversation someone had with support, they are supposed to come back. When that happens, who knows.
