That's what I was wondering when I enquired about the Free Seats. The first week of the month the Free Seats freeroll did run. That freeroll was specifically for $250 Maximus coupons. But then it dissapeared for the following week. I looked everywhere for any mention of why it was gone; but nada. I slso specifically looked at what promotions were running for September in the September thread and the Free Seats was listed. That's when I enquired about the freeroll. It could be Maximus related but I don't remember it being suspended in the past. Someone with a better memory might know.

If you click on the Free seats in the promo session it redirects you back to your dashboard. I find that interesting when they have old promos floating around their site for months after the promo is gone.

Why can't we ever get transparent answers from them

As we all know the Merge Network has done a number of crappy things over the past year. But there have also been a number of improvements too like the lowering of the Limit Rake, improvement of sitngo structures and a number of improvements to the client. The improvements to the site have almost all been the result of the efforts of 2+2 members via Carbon. I know that I've made suggestions that have been implemented and I think that a lot of others can say the same. Some improvements have been the result 2+2ers debating issues and coming up with the best solutions.

It's hard to say what Carbon would look like today without that input but I don't think that it would be pretty. That player input is gone now. This change by no means will improve customer service. It will only further diminish the player pool by leaving the network to its own devices.

I think the opening of WSOP.com might be a factor.

If you're a legal site that's had to grease the palms of politicians for the past few years, dot your i's and cross your t's as far as regulatory and licensing burdens, and done everything by the book, you might not like having to compete with a site like Carbon on 2+2 that has none of those burdens and hasn't expended so much time and resources.

Maybe Carbon/Merge realizes this and are deciding not to step on any toes that might bring the DOJ after them .

Just a thought.

Okay all I know is there have been delays with the new MTT schedule. I asked Ryan about it on Skype the other day and he said he didn't really know what was going on. I didn't think that sounded to good but that was all he could really say. As for the reasons for the delays all I know is there were some issues that needed working out before the new schedule could be released.

Something is obviously going on, I doubt seriously Carbon is moving to WPN.

For anyone who doesn't know what all's gone on: I don't know the actual timeline but sometime last fall is when the Merge CEO left and shortly after that P2P was removed and several skins got squeezed out. At some point before all this Sportsbook, or the company that owns Sportsbook and Players Only, took over Merge. Carbon was of course the flagship skin at that time and still is but I think, I've never been able to totally figure this out, that Carbon isn't owned by Sportsbook's parent company. I think they are independent but I'm not 100% sure.

For those who don't remember, Sportsbook and Players Only used to be on Cake and they moved to Merge sometime in 2010. When they were on Cake they never allowed P2P even though the rest of the Cake skins did. They also had crappy customer service in my opinion. So when I heard Sportsbook's parent company took over Merge I wasn't surprised when P2P was stopped.

It's been pretty evident that the current people running Merge are a bunch of idiotic droolers who have about as much business sense as 2 five year olds playing office. This pulling of the 2p2 support forum is just further proof of what we already know.

I think Carbon and Intertops should partner up. Intertops has the cashier already and it functions beatifully. All they need is some good software so they should partner up and buy the UB/AP software and they'd have the best US site hands down! We can only dream but I can't imagine Carbon is going anywhere. I think this is just another BS bad decision made by the top droolers.

FWIW, I too don't think this has anything to do with the companies stability, I just think it's another dumb decision.

@JimAfternoon, nah I doubt that anything to do with any of this.

I completely agree with you about the owners of Merge. The problem with the Merge Network being in the hands of sports betters is that, in my opinion, sports betters tend to be a much sleazier group of people than folks involved solely in poker. I've complained a number of times in these forums about the unholy union of sports gambling and poker. I have personal reasons for feeling that way.

Many years ago, on the East Coast, I knew people in organized crime (aka Mafia). These folks showed me how they fixed the horse racing. People came to the track thinking that they were betting on a fair race but it was fixed. Since then the stuff that I was shown has been cleaned up but I have little doubt that these things still persist. I would love nothing more than for Carbon to break away and join another reputable site like Intertops but getting software is indeed the problem.

Unfortunately, I don't think that buying UB/AP software is really an option. From what I understand the software is very badly documented and I think most of the documentation is written in Korean (as I remember it). But the big problem with that software is that players would never trust it. Even though the software may have been fixed, whenever a player has a string of bad beats he would think that he was cheated.

Do you guys think main event of Maximus will reach guarantees or will there be overlay? Sunday looks pretty juicy, looking forward to it.

Quick question...the last couple days of Last Man Standing are 15k and 25k VIP points. Is anyone going to try to do this, and if so, how? I don't think I've ever been able to crack 1000 pts/hour.

Since there isn't a "Support thread" anymore, maybe someone here can help me.

re:Carbon-Sports, I made a couple of bets on last night's nfl game.

Where can I go on the client to see past bets and pending/placed bets?

thx in advance

merge has been making it clear that they despise regs and grinders for quite some time. This is just one more move to make that even clearer. I doubt they are going anywhere, but they certanily don't want to cater to us.

I will be reduing my bankroll on the site just because I don't see a great future with them or the need for an increased roll based on the games that go off, but not because I think they are going to suddenly dissapear.

I think they just wanted to have all the support and immediate questions in one place. They are obviously not going to get much player input but I wouldn't think that Merge is in trouble. I hope they don't move or join with someone else. Im not sure if they had lives upport for everyone (I think it was for only depositors, not sure), so maybe they have live support for everyone now?

Also when the carbon forum (forum.carbon.ag) was deleted, people were wondering what was going on and I believe it was just an independent decision that had no affect on anything else. So I believe the same has happened here.

Does anyone think the reason they completely deleted it is for legal reasons? Sure the gov can still access the history, but maybe they felt it was too hard not to publicly incriminate themselves on a forum and chose it was safer to just shut it down.

This was my immediate thought but idk how much of what is posted here could be used as evidence above things like bank records the DOJ could track down

Yeah & they closed it down around the time they showed up here @ 2+2 if I remember correctly. Now we have neither. That's a bummer.

As a long time Merge player this move makes me nervous. Especially unannounced. Hmmm. C'mon Carbon.... Please post some kind of comment on this situation.

Yeah it was a while back. Also, i dont think it has to do with legal reasons. I just think they want to make the support (email/chat) the main channel. But then the immediate closing and Ryan not posting, is a little concerning. Someone said they theyve talked to him but still the forum and threads had to be shut down immediately without a warning?

I don't like this. I don't like this one bit.
Two months ago we lost the monthly $10,000 monthly cash freerolls & $10,000 monthly tourney tickets freerolls. Happy hour VIP's bonus points were cut from 2x to 1.5 x.
There was supposed to be a new standardized tourney schedule that was discussed in great length in the Carbon forums starting September 1st. This hasn't happened. Starting October? LOL we'll see.
Now no more weekly freeseats freerolls and no more Carbon/Aced forums here.
And I know I missing some things that were changed/removed for SNG's & cash game promos and bonuses recently (I don't play much of either so I'm not sure)
Something is going on. The only place we could all get some answers/give input on so many issues we're all concerned with/affected by were these forums, and now poof, they're gone, just like that?
I better see someone from Carbon/Aced or Merge chime in on this thread, and soon, to give us some info/answers/reassurances.

Im sure the DOJ has plenty to put them under if they wanted to. This just reminds me of RPM how there rep dissapeared then skin suddenly shuts down and points got stolen by merge or RPM. Same with hero but heros ceo maid us aware so we could spend or points before they vanished-very thenkful for that. It would be nice If a carbon REP could come post in here re assuring all of us that we are not going to see another RPM scenerio. It seems very possible to mo that carbon might be going out like RPM, Removing reps and forums so they have no one to answer to. This is a very ****ty thing to do to us players that have been screwed time after time these last few years. This sudden change without announcement worrys me. I think if it was nothing serious you would have announced that this was your plan so people dont pannic and stop playing. An official statement from a carbon rep reassuring us that everything is good would be nice

I just means a tougher support, and less player feedback. Not really much of a deal, my games are dead though I love the mobile games. I can play my limits with less roll and a good time to draw it down.

Sorry to see the forum go though it had good info, and good representation to the regs. Not sure how they will get info out as emails they say go out never really go out.

Me too but I don't know where else to go. The anonymous player tags are what keep me away from Bovada. Every other site looks like trash and no traffic.

Actually that's a very good point I hadn't thought about. Only dreaming but I'm sure there is good trustworthy software out there though.

Not really and I don't think the site is in financial trouble either, as I said, I think it all stems from having the crazy people running the asylum.
