Nope. A non-affiliated account not being needed to get the offer in no way implies that an affiliated account is needed.

Okay thank you for clarifying. Not sure why the secrecy by Carbon and cryptic messages from Khan, what's the point of keeping requirements from your players?

I believe that the goal of Carbon Elite was to offer it to recreational players to help them feel like they are getting something back, and to keep them depositing and staying active. It was not meant for regs. This is all part of the industry's trend to accommodate recreational and gambling players.

This will probably be my default explanation until I hear something else concrete. I'm sure there have been some players who claim to be winners and to have the elite tier and there are exceptions to every rule, but something like protecting and attracting fish is the most plausible reason to me it would make sense to keep it a secret and it CLEARLY is a secret.

EDIT: FWIW, this web page seems to think the best course of action to get 35% tier is:

- Sustained Carbon Plus play ($500+ rake / month)
- Non-bumhunting activity improving the site economy, i.e. starting tables, sports bets
- Emailing support@carbonpoker.ag
- Getting lucky!

Having a VIP promotion serve two separate purposes is an incredibly bad idea. It causes confusion and hard feelings amongst the regular players. And some of the recreational players who have made the Elite tier are going to be angry when they find their Elite tier status expired with no explanation as to why.

This supports the theory that it's not for regular players because it infuriates them

The rakeback provider I signed up through to Carbon offered me and other players in the same boat a promotion recently based on how much rake we generated on Carbon. We were rewarded with prizes (Apple products) or cash equivalent. So, this tells me that our rakeback provider probably still makes money off us even though we don't anymore. How/Why else would they be able to offer these prizes?

It's possible that people who get the offer for 35% are not tied to a rakeback provider. Or, at least maybe that's ONE criteria that usually needs to be met. Maybe I'm wrong, but it was something that crossed my mind.
I started up with my first buy in at raketherake.com and havent received anything in the way of prizes or offers. It's just so frustrating to email support and get an answer equivalent to "We're not gonna tell you hahahahahaha."

Raketherake just had a promotion from January through March based on how much you raked at Carbon. You had to opt in to it, though - it wasn't automatic.

Not much. Carbon has a sportsbook, Aced does not.

Color Scheme, URL, and Aced has no SB. That's about it.

18 for new accounts/most accounts. If one gets restricted, it's often down to 4 tables.

It's nothing to be terribly concerned with and I'm sure they've already been notified

Carbon is 18 for me, but I don't really play there and am slightly down overall. Sports book I'm at 6 and that's how it was when I made my account, Players Only I'm at 4 and was a big winner in cash (couldn't even play cash until recently they allowed me to again), Super Book I'm at 4 and just made a brand new account, and Aced I was at first restricted to 4, but randomly as of a week or so ago can sit 18 tables again(big winner).

I only play poker and don't makes sports bets or play casino games. I play a mix of MTTs and cash and usually rake $5K+.

It seems to be the SB/PO side that is being the harshest with the caps no matter if you are a winner, loser, or brand new.

I really don't understand why there is different caps considering it's all 1 network now. Fwiw, SB/PO has been capped since October for most people.

Just like having a secret VIP it is completely ******ed to randomly cap people and then not cap others. If you want to make the VIP hard to get then make it hard to get.... If you want to cap tables then just cap tables for everyone at something reasonable, say 6-8. Though I still think it makes zero sense to cap MTTs.

Yeah nothing security wise to be concerned with, but it's sloppy.

It's fixed now anyhow.

Merge finally restricted me to 4 tables...****ing awesome. An email would have been appreciated instead of starting it mid session.

You can' really skin hop to avoid restrictions. Security will flag your new account(s) relatively quickly.

I want to thank Khan for getting my 4 table restriction lifted. We chatted on Skype for a bit then he immediately went to Carbon and spoke on my behalf. This is probably the 3rd or 4th time I've spoken to him and he has always been extremely helpful.

Thank you so much!
