I think they resolve things by making the VIP points draw slower and more difficult

I guess the ones who didn't get disconnected had a good ol' time stealing blinds & antes

When I got booted I had 520K and the biggest stack was around 750. when I finally got back on I only had 200k and 2 guys had 1.7 and 2 mil. They must have been stealing like crazy. I managed to come back and take 2nd in the tourney so Im happy with the results but man is a messed up situation.

Wow, so brutal with all the disconnects. Seems like this was an actually scam, I wonder who the beneficiaries were...

and back off...

the poker admin on their site is on the fritz as well.
i am just a low stakes sng'er, however, this exact deal has happened to me a few nights in a row around 11pm central time.
I was told to turn off my hud, hem2, and note caddie as these could be causing this conflict with the carbon client.
I have only played a day or two without my other program running, i haven't had a lock up yet, but i have such a small sample and i need to give it a few weeks to see if the client freezes without these programs running to deteremine if it really is these other programs causing the problem?

advice that seems to have worked for me in these situations:

when you confirm you're disconnected in the lobby and it says "trying to reconnect" or whatever, don't wait. close and restart the client immediately. this isn't always the case, but when you restart the client usually there is a system update you have to OK.

the client starts again, but it takes longer than normal to finish connecting. again, DO NOT wait.

last night i closed the client again, and when i restarted it there was another system update i had to install. this time it logged me in normally and i was only disconnected for about a minute.

(and i plead not guilty to being the chip thief. when i got back everyone at my table was there.)

hud and HM are not the root of the problem, i can guarantee that. this was clearly something on merges end or a specific region. it seemed to me like way more ppl were disconnected than those that werent

I got disconnected yesterday, exited and opened the client again but it wouldn't get to the log in screen. It took a few minutes and then it let me log in. There wasn't any update so I'm not sure if everyone has that happen to them...

I tried this probably about 15 times yesterday (starting 8:50 pm PST through about 9:25 PST) and it didn't work. Finally I was able to get back on to find that I had blinded off. I took a peek at some of the other tournaments that were still going and saw that some stacks were clearly disconnected and others able to play.

Anyone who thinks this is a conspiracy should stop. It's a bad beat to those of us who got screwed out of our equity in the tournaments we were still alive in, but it's way too far fetched to think it was some intentional scam. I'm curious if customer support will get back to anyone though I expect any response to be some variation of "tough titties, bro".

Okay, can you please try at least a little bit to pretend like you are critically thinking about this? The disconnects were a scam? So when you get disconnected from FTP/Stars/Bovada/etc. it's a scam?

Why does it take so long to update my vip status? I hit 20k points earned for the month almost 12 hours ago and it still has me as Ether status rather than Carbon status. I'm not in a big big hurry, but I'd like to cash in my over 40k points and withdraw sooner rather than later.

Generally happens at midnight server time, so it will proly be tomorrow when ti gets done. That's what Ryan had said a couple of times.

I was 3rd in chips in a MTT with 21 players left before the disconnect. First was over $1200. Had an average stack in the $22 night owl and an $11 MTT.

Finally get back on to see myself blinded out of 2/3 tournies. And I'm 9/13 in the one I was 3rd in. Then lose my 99 aipf vs 44.

GG Merge. You have screwed me for the last time. I'm done with online poker until we get Pokerstars back.

It looks like the Free Seat Promo is permanently gone. It has just been deleted from the administration page.

i guess something is up tonight. just noticed freerolls arent listed as of tomorrow. when i first started on merge they had $1000 freerolls, that immediately became $200 freerolls, that became $50. i guess theyre tooling up for the all new $5 freerolls. they have really screwed up this network in the last few months, taking away all the 7 stud and 5 draw micro limit games that i played every day, for no apparent reason. not sure i want to keep playing here, other crappy sites are looking better and better

When it's a majority of the players disconnecting simultaneously, maybe it's Merge that should be contacting their ISP for advice.

Good job quoting a small part of a whole page about disconnections. When it is clearly on their end(almost everyone getting disconnected), they issue refunds according to what is on that page.
