Can someone please help me recover the hh's from a few weeks ago when carbon changed the hh folder? I have PT3 and have since created a file for carbon poker to save in and PT3 to import from, but I can't find those hh's from the in-between time. I can't find that folder that they'd changed the carbon folder to in PT3. Thank you.

My advice is to not mess with the government in general but ESPECIALLY the IRS. If they can get Al Capone and Willie Nelson, they can get you. You're just asking for trouble.

The IRS is not like a credit card company you owe money to where you can just avoid them for a while. They can and, if needed, will completely turn your life upside down garnishing wages or jail time. You don't want those people in your life.

If your "stomach" for illegal activities includes possibly going to jail, then, sure, take your chances.

I'll be fine. Like I said when I was doing it full time I was a live professional. Hard for them to trace cash. You guys are obviously better citizens then me and for that I commend you.

I'm sure there's a tax thread floating around somewhere so I'll let this thread get back to merge talk

This is my main source of income as I'm a student, but I should be in a low tax bracket. Since I don't have much to lose by reporting, I'll likely do it. And I might have some to gain as I'd guess my risk of audit is real.

This is what bothers me. I have and will have a weird record of receiving those checks from various countries and companies.

But, if the checks come from all these random companies, how does it make sense to file as a poker player? Will no one care if the money comes from company A, then company B etc.?

By the way, I appreciate the big response in this thread. Sorry if I'm derailing a bit.

This was happening to me. The top part of the submit button was just at the bottom of the screen. It seemed like there should have been a bar there that dragged down but it wouldn't. Maybe try to long on through the player admin or the sports side or if you remember where the button was and you can see the top of it try to click it.

Please don't take this as a defense of Merge. I'm only playing Devil's advocate here.

How many times have people disconnected and folded their hands against you in online poker?

Is it possible that perhaps sometimes they had good hands and you were gifted equity that otherwise shouldn't have been yours?

Taking this a step further, doesn't all the random noise work itself out in the end? (In my 11 years of professional online play, I feel that it does.)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you won't be getting any $2,000 refunds from Merge, or any other network for disconnects that weren't mass server problems... and there were no mass problems reported in this thread. As such, it is almost certainly some sort of routing problem between you and the game servers (probably not your fault, but not theirs either), which happens at all sites and networks (to me personally on over 60 of them), since the inception of online poker.

It sucks when it's up front and visible and you lose equity with good hands... but it's also impossible to calculate how much equity you've won by it happening to your opponents Hell, the guy you were up against may have flopped full saving you from getting stacked!

This isn't intended to be an attack on you, it is simply my observations after having played millions and millions of hands over the last decade. **** happens... it's just another form of variance... the randomness always reaches an equilibrium in the end.

Actually the disconnects don't average themselves out in the end because certain regions get disconnected a lot more than others. I live in California and rarely get disconnected whereas players on the East Coast seem to get disconnected quite a lot.

Unfortunately though when the client just freezes, it could be a problem with a conflict with other software on the computer. Merge isn't going to refund for that. If there was chat at the game indicating that the other players' clients also froze then a refund could be possible.

I don't think I've ever been disconnected on any site but Cake when it wasn't the fault of my own computer or internet connection.

As a follow up to my previous question about deposit methods, I went ahead and requested a Netspend Visa by mail rather than the WU option. I just don't trust a WU xfer and have heard too many horror stories. At least if the card gets turned down I still have $500.

this happened to me once and while i was on with Support i clicked the sliver of the button visible and it went through.

Support told me 1st to try on a different browser (didn't change anything) and then to clear out my cookie/temporary files. if you get on with live chat they will walk you through it.

MergeMods

I've customized backgrounds, table layouts, card backs, dealer button, etc. with a bit of Photoshop. Also using a mix of Stars and FTP sounds.

it happend again, 90% of the time it happens after midnight. should i just not play during those times or should i quit online poker and become a live pro so dont have to worry about disconnects cuz this is beyond tilting i just shattered my keyboard into 100 pieces. and no it doesnt even out, ive disconected atlest twice as many times as my opponents.

like i said before my internet was working perfectly while carbon wasnt, thats what really bothers me, even if i had a backup connection it would be useless

thats 2 strikes, one more and its GG merge i dont give a **** anymore
