There are no PokerHost reps on 2+2. You can however contact them via live chat or 800#.

How difficult is this, out of curiosity?

You earn 10 point for every $1 raked, so not very hard. You can exchange 1,000 points for $10 5 times a month. (10% cash back)

The next level is 5,000 points earned, but you can only cash in 10,000 points at a time for $150 which is absolutely ******ed imo. (15% cash back)

Then of course there is the magical "elite" tier that no one knows how to get and people earning 40K+ plus points a month don't get an invite to. If you do someone get the invite you can exchange 1,425 points for $50 or 5,000 points for $175. (35% cash back)

Their VIP set up is the pits. Unless you are putting in volume that should in reality be top tier volume you're stuck at 10% no matter how much you play. Let's face it, lots of people earn 5k-15K points a month but very few are earning 20K+ which means the majority get to use 1 15% cash in a month. If I remember correctly 20K used to be the top tier..

Like everything else that used to be cool about Merge, they took that too.

On Carbon and Aced yes. PokerHost uses a lifetime points earned system and thus once you achieve it, you can always exchange your points on that tier.

No there is not but if one is a full time MTT grinder, as some people I know are, one can actually get some benefits from many of the normal volume based promotions. For example the current race2riches promo. A solid MTT grinder would rake enough, specially with a full 2x multiple, to see some extra % of rewards.

Does Carbon no longer give out rakeback?

I just made a credit card deposit after not playing with them for probably a little over a year.

Do I automatically enroll in their VIP Rewards program?

Is Pokerhost a good site right now? Compared to Carbon? Are U.S. players accepted?

They don't participate in every tournament. Their cashier is better. And their VIP is based off of life time points, so it's worse at first, but eventually better because you don't have to earn a certain amount every month. It's 30,000 life time points to get 15% cash back and on the other skins you get 15% cash back if you earn 5,000 points a month.

They also recently kicked off big winners. Carbon/Aced have never done this to my knowledge. Of course, Kahn will be in here shortly to tell you it's no big deal and only was a few people, but that's not the point. Once they kicked off winners they lost my business for good.

No flat rakeback on Merge.

You are automatically enrolled in VIP program.

Yes it's a valid alternative. Each has it's own pros and cons.

US players are accepted.

Thanks!

Is there anything I should go and do in my player profile in order to enrich my time on Carbon?

I just want to make sure I'm not missing it.

you should activate promotions, go into the client and go to "account" then "player admin"

from there click on the promotions along the left hand column and activate the ones that need activated.

you can also view promotions as a whole to see if anything tickles ur fancy

Thanks guys, I greatly appreciate it.

One other thing: When I reloaded, I used a bonus code. And now it looks like on the client, there is a "Playthrough bonus" I have to do in order to receive that. Does that mean I have to match all of those VIP points (78,000 or so - ouch!) before they release it? I think it's a 100% bonus. I deposited $500. Does that mean they're going to give me $500 once it's completed?

The number of points you see is what you have to earn to release the full bonus. It's either 750 for $5 or 1500 for $10 and it's automatically released. I think the deposit bonus is the first and reload is the 2nd. Check the promotion page, it should tell you.

Okay, I found it. It looks like $10 for every 1500 VIP points. I was hoping it was just one big collective sum. Oh well. Thanks again!
