I've played since 2004 online, don't use charts, HUD's or the like. Mainly a low volume pot-shotter, but I do win MTT's (not saying I'm a lifetime crusher). I don't play to make a living, but of course a large part of playing poker is that I want a return on my time and $ investment, I'm not just there for the rake and giggles.
i worked with a guy who was exactly in the same spot. he played decent volume last wsop circuit event i think and probably won 50-100k or so. he was very worried as well what happens with bigger scores etc. zero issues.
GG is big now and the last thing they need is somebody fair and square shipping a 250k first place and not paying him.
However as being said you should make sure if there is a chance you end up deep in one of the big events that everything is legit:
- play under your real name
- have adress proof
- make sure your country is allowed to play
- dont use hud
if you do everything by the books they will pay you
however i think though that if you final table events they will look abit closer on who you are and if everything matches so if somebody decides to play via vpn, fake residence and maybe fake id then yes that could very well lead to issues. and i would assume that most of the problems with cashouts reported results from players not being completely honest...
