The last time I tried it I kept running into stumbling blocks, such as Circle.com stopping selling Bitcoin literally the day I tried to do it, and other such nonsense. If someone has a method that works that they would care to share, I would appreciate it.
I just did this process in the last week and I was totally confused, so let me try to help because I found that the support wouldn't really tell me much.
https://bitcoin.org/en/getting-started Is a useful page.
Step 1: Choose a wallet.
I used Bitcoin Core. Download it
Then right click on your icon and change the target to "C:\Program Files\Bitcoin\bitcoin-qt.exe" -prune=550M (you're adding -prune=550M).
Doing this will change the amount of data that is stored on your computer and save a TON Of space and save time synchronizing.
You probably also want to encrypt this wallet (add a password -- DO NOT FORGET. You will be screwed if you do).
Step 2: Find an Exchange to buy bitcoin.
Coinbase is popular but you cannot buy very much at first (something like a $250 limit).
I ended up using Cex.io It was safe and I was able to buy as much as I needed.
Step 3: Transfer your bitcoin to your wallet.
Inside your wallet click 'Receive' to get the address to transfer.
Step 4 Transfer.
Step 5 Go to BetOnline and choose Deposit Method BitCoin and it will tell you the exact amount to send and the address to send it to. Once you get this, go back to your wallet, click send, and enter the address and amount of bitcoin to send.
Should take 5-30 minutes to confirm.
