The thing is, most of that you can see by "find player" is not running at the time. He just registeted in them... Make sure about this as well.
As far playing even 30 tables at a time, as MCA mentioned, it's not unheard of! I'm not a guy who plays a lot of tables and I never used a multi-tabling software myself and I can easily play up to 12 tables at a time without timing out or anything (I just play 6 btw) so I don't see 30 to be impossible!

I actually started a conversation with one of them. I asked how he managed to play so many tournaments, and he gave an odd answer: "I have two computers." Odd to me because the way it would be done of course is with multiple monitors. Two computers wouldn't work as you can't log in on more than one. It struck me as something some stooge who doesn't understand the technology would say. As I put my tin foil hat on, I imagined that he was just there to chat and throw people off the idea that the player might be a bot...

That is an odd answer. Maybe he meant two monitors. I've never seen a suspected cash game bot ever type in the chat and I have 100,000s of hands on some. Maybe the botting accounts were advised to start communicating in the chat.

They should just ban all 3rd party software and keep the game clean! Would definitely draw a nice crowd of real Poker players.

100% disagree. There will always be people with 3rd party software on every poker site. They just wouldn't be able to distribute it commercially. This would give a small amount of players a much larger advantage. Also the only way I was able to identify cheating/botting accounts is with 3rd party software. The best way to identify irregularities is with a database of statistics. Do you really want put your faith in a gambling site to identify and stop the cheaters? The only reason the Pokerstars PLO bots were caught is because players had 3rd party software.

If this is what you want then go play at Global Poker. It would be naive to think there aren't players utilizing 3rd party software there and I definitely wouldn't put my trust in them to identify all of the cheaters in their games.

I prefer to have the knowledge of who is cheating in slightly tougher games than to have slightly softer games and then find out I've been cheated. Or never find out.

lol man these sites have scanning software that can detect bots. It's been around since the early 2000s. I'm sure they could easily if they wanted to. Just disallow hand history during live game and release it EOD. That would put most of the work on scanning computer processes for screen scrapers.

So put faith in poker companies to stop cheating? No thanks. The biggest one(Pokerstars) couldn't identify that 7 out of the top 10 PLO players were bots without help from the players and their 3rd party software.

Also as you say, "these sites have scanning software that can detect bots." This one sure as hell wasn't utilizing it or at the very least it wasn't good enough to identify the software used in the current climate.

That's how they did it back then. I remember people started using two computers instead of one. The HUD/Botting software used to be one software. I'm sure its a lot harder now but removing hand history data from live game will solve a lot.

With a 100% guarantee that all 3rd party software would be detected, including screen scraping software, and the accounts found using it would be banned I would be ok with just being able to download hand histories. Trusting them to be able to identify all 3rd party software is just not something I'm willing to put faith in right now. Maybe a site will be able to guarantee this is in the future. That would be cool.

LOL. Most of the largest, most successful bot rings were caught by players, using 3rd party software. Most sites let these bout rings play far too long. LOL at trusting sites with bit detection and prevention. How naive.

Hello, even after TigerGaming started sending emails with warnings about sit outs and table blocking, some people keep abusing the system. Please, do something. Proof:

Did anyone from BetOnline or Sportsbetting get an email about sitouts? I definitely didn't. I find it odd that Tigergaming would send out emails, but not BetOnline.

Are bots suspected of being on top of the leaderboards every week/month? I'd like to start playing on BOL and put in enough volume to compete, but I'm not going to battle with them if they are bot-infested playing 80+ hours a week.

There's no proof that there are bots.. only suspicions, so it depends on who you believe.

Not saying there aren't any, just that people are making assumptions.. At the very least I've seen (NL) players with similar stats, even postflop, following software or charts or something all the way up to 1-2NL. Some play higher even.

If you're willing to put in 80+ hours a week you're a psychopath(no offense, more in awe) and I think you'll do just fine on the leaderboard. Activity from the suspected bot accounts has been way down recently anyway.

For a while there the leaderboard top 1-2-3 positions were all dominated by the HUNL 5/10 regs that seemingly live on there. I put in pretty substantial PLO volume between 3/6 and 5/10 and couldn't break into top 5. Not sure about the lower stake leaderboards.

Btw, 2 of the 10NL bots are back.. With different Niknames of course...
You can figure out which ones pretty fast.
The same exact game style...

Yeah, and that's part of why I don't really think it was a bad thing they got rid of HU. It was just a rake generating machine and finally the site management realized all the rake race money was just going to the HU regs.

ofc I'm biased as getting rid of the HU tables definitely benefited me (though not playing much on this site anymore).

I'm not surprised in the least. I expect to see the same at other stakes as well.

It seems that BetOnline completely changed their encryption, so it could be awhile before they can update their card catcher.

Anyone else having trouble getting into the client? Keep getting timed out.

Dealt with the most insanely condescending support agent ever who suggested I turn off anti virus/firewall which I did as well as a few other things and no success. Any ideas would be great.

Most 3rd party software will need an update.

I highly doubt it.. The format of the tournament makes it harder for bots.
