And they are correct. What can you possibly gain from bragging on a poker forum how soft the games are that you play other than some worthless ego stroke, ie, look at me, all my opponents suck and Im awesome.

and guess what, the games are still very good
They used to be better.

How much of an effect can grinders have when they can only play 4 tables?
A lot, considering there are only twenty seats available surrounding a six max cash player four tabling, if just one single good player is persuaded to join and is sitting at your tables replacing a rec your winrate just took a substantial fall.

Everyone knows how soft Bovada is at this point.
Every decent player in the world? If you can convince me that is accurate and that not one of those players that already know might be convinced to join by pages full of silly recommendations then Ill be convinced that bragging about where you make money to your like minded competitors is a neutral activity. Until then, Ill assume the reality, which is at best that nothing positive can from it, and at worst it can cost me money.
FWIW, I watched sites like WSEX and Cake go from the softest sites in the world to complete rock gardens because of poker forums brags and word of mouth. If the rest of the US sites all start implementing table caps and everyone starts flowing into Bovada because they heard how soft it is, you will see what I mean more clearly. As you stated, there are still things that are keeping the site from being saturated by winning players as some other sites with similar reputations eventually were.
Having said all of that, this is a poker forum and people have the right to voice their opinions. If someone IM`d someone threatening them about those posts that is obviously ridiculous and out of line. Im merely commentating and giving my opinion as to why it seems like a ridiculous or at least an illogical activity to participate in if your goal is to make as much money as you can playing poker. I believe it can be more, but even if the negative effect is between zero and minimal, we know its not a positive so why do it? Its like when people ask in the cashout thread, why bother not posting bank names, anyone that wants the info will know where to find it yadda yadda. We do it because nothing good can come from it and in theory someone bad could even if its a not likely theoretical google hit from some previously clueless prying eyes.
