To elaborate, my handle on Bodog was, "my iq is 55", and my avatar was a picture of Corky from the tv series, Life Goes On.

With 4 players remaining, I increased the equity of the shortstack at mostly his expense. He reacted by stating my number, and insulted my play by calling me Corky and something to the effect of me actually being a ******.

I asked him why he called me corky; He vaguely responded, "i can see it".

I think there's a good chance that he could see my screen name and not my avatar, but remember my avatar since I've played 1k-2k sit and go's at that stake.

tbh, bovada is still my favorite site because of the way they process cashouts. however i am very sure, but not positive, that this player could see my name and maybe my avatar.

Does it ever occur to you guys who see stuff like this to take a screenshot when it happens? That way when you show up here to make a claim you actually have something to back it up. Right now there's no way people will believe you, but if you were to take the 3 seconds it takes to grab a screen shot, it would be a lot more reliable.

I understand that this is not anonymous for everyone.

Do people here have any idea what % of people can see screen names?
Their is a player who plays in a lot of the same SnGs as me. Every 3 or 4 days or so I will type in "Hey (his screen name), how you doing today?" If he is paying attention and is actually in my game he will freak out a little.

Maybe someone is doing something similar to you?

Edit: Fast posted but based on post 903 this could very well be the case. There aren't that many high stakes SnG players at bodog.

No, unfortunately it did not occur to me at the time, and I regret not taking a screenshot.

Yeah that's definitely possible, but it's unlikely just because of how infrequently i've played since the anonymous tables update.

For the record, I play low stakes sng's. This was a 10 +.60 super turbo.

I misread your post. You said 1k-2k and I assumed you meant the buyin, not the number of SnGs you have played.

Bovada does not have SNG's higher than $200.

reading that more detailed explanation made me wonder if there's a chance people are using the old bodog software (and bypassing the update to anonymous tables?)

edit, someone just told me they changed the server and this is impossible to do but still curious about the possibility that people are doing something similar to this, or however else they would see avatars/screen names.

Maybe calling you "Corky" was his way of calling you a ****** for not pressuring the ss. People get mad at that all the time on the bubble, getting called an idiot, ******, or even something racial is very common in those situations. The person wont risk their chips but expect you to do so even with garbage.

You're the third person to bring this up. I think an email or call to Bovada is in order.

I emailed them about it. Mods have been delete happy so who knows if it's still in the thread somewhere. At first they thought I was talking about kyleb's thread even though I linked them to the specific post that was nowhere near that thread. Then they sent me a standard line assuring me that my personal information is safe and there's no way for anyone to get it. I gave up after that figuring I wasn't going to get anywhere.

What would really help as I've been saying the last few posts is if someone could grab a screen shot when this happens. Hopefully our pleas for people to grab screen shots will get someone to actually do it next time it happens.

I realize that people get mad when they play poker, but specifying my number and saying corky(somewhat obscure) at the same time would be a massive coincidence.

what number are you referring to?

He said his screen name was "my iq is 55", so I'm assuming he means the 55.

Morphy, when you talk about 3 different times this has been brought up, it should be remembered that the last two times at least were very different and both were at least somewhat questionable. I have no idea if there was a third time, or what it was about.

We have a guy being slurred as a Mexican player, which could definitely be random insult slinging, and now these "Corky" references which could be coincidence (depending on this number reference) or someone recalling him from before. I'd say the links are pretty tenuous at best still, but of course that doesn't mean they should be dismissed.

Oh, BTW..."delete happy"? If anything, we probably let too many stupid arguments stay ITT, and we certainly aren't deleting anything because it's in some way reflecting poorly on Bovada, if that's what you're getting at.

Yeah, exactly what I was thinking when it happened to me...

Actually, your incident strikes me as quite possible to be a coincidence. Racial slurs get thrown around all the time without any basis.

Yeah, its entirely possible it was a coincidence. Just something about how he was responding when I was LOL'ing and brushing off his comments as ridic that made me feel he could really see it. Regrettably there is no screen shot, so blahhhhh...

I certainly don't want to be dismissive of this stuff, but so far it's all pretty tenuous. It just seems strange to me that when ******** got into this, all they could do was link each player to their account ID, and they definitely could not link to everyone's old screen names. To think Bovada's fix would have actually made the problem worse and meant that people could now link the screen name as well would certainly be the height of incompetence. And yes, I know what some of you are probably thinking.

Also, I'd have to think that if such software is available, and morons who can't even keep quiet enough not to berate people based on the information have said software, that word would get out on 2+2. I mean, it's one thing if a few regulars put something together and kept it quiet, but when it falls into the hands of some idiot who's going to be calling someone a "beaner", the gig's up. Same idiot would've sold the software to everyone he knows for $10 so he could go buy some more Coor's Light.

Yeah I was unclear. He said "55", the word, "corky", and my (1-9)number from the tournament all at the same time.

I won't go into the post deleting, but your comment on reflecting poorly on Bovada got a good chuckle out of me.

Anyway, the first reported incident of this seems like the most convincing to me still. That was the one where the guy said someone at his tournament final table was typing out screen names of all of the players at the table.

I know you know this, but just have to throw it in one more time so people remember. If this happens to anyone, be sure to take a screenshot of it. That will help answer a lot of questions.

The amount of time that players are allowed to stall on the bubble is completely absurd. There is no way players should get a full 30 seconds+ time bank every single hand. It makes the already crappy end game structure even worse.

Bovada probably has it this way on purpose tho to keep bad players with $, so there is really no point in posting this.
