Do exactly this and report back to us.

Maybe have a trusted friend/family member back home reactivate then cash out for you? I dunno.

Somewhat by accident, I discovered that I had been issued a ticket to the weekly Bovada $100k tourney. Does anybody know how these are issued? I'm sure I didn't buy it, so must have won it somehow. I could ask Bovada, but don't want to do so yet, in case it was an accident and they take it away

Just curious, do you have to confirm your address (e.g. utility bill) before withdrawals. I ask b/c I move a lot and gave my parent's address, but I don't get any mail there.

How do you guys think the difficulty (or lack thereof) on Bovada compared to Pokerstars and FTP? Obviously Carbon is much tougher than the latter two, but howbout Bovada?

Bovada is tougher than people say it is....BUT the anonymous tables seem to make up for that in different ways and help to create the "soft" image the site has earned.

While I'd agree that there are some problems with the way this was handled if all went down as described, it's a shame you didn't listen to the people ITT who told you 5 days ago that Bovada was US-only. This isn't a big secret; Bovada has always been US only.

Definitely contact Bodog and see if they can help.

I had asked bodog this back in late 2011 when i wanted to relocate but i didn't and they said no problem. Then they changed their name to bovada in late 2011. I then asked in 2012 by calling them, i had asked 2-3 times during the time just to confirm and they were bovada already at the time and they said no problem. You come to canada and just give them copy of bank statement/utility bill etc and its fine.

Last month i confirmed with them one more time about it before i booked my flight, i even requested a cashout for august before i left in september so i don't keep a big balance on my bovada account.

I came to montreal close to 2 weeks ago. I emailed them a few days later and said okay im in canada, are you going to need my canadian bank statement now etc and they said no its fine, just send it when you request a cashout so i thought okay thats fine since if i dont request a cashout here in canada, then when i go back to the us i just cashout.

What you mean its a shame i didn't check this thread 5 days ago that it was us only? I already got here 2 weeks ago and i confirmed with bovada so many times u wouldn't believe how many times i did it just to make sure i could continue using my bovada account and then cashout when im in canada. There was this cashout problem i had with w/u where i received 2 different answers concerning a cashout and then b/c of that, i spoke to the manager at bovada just to make sure which one it is b/c i got different answers from 2 different reps. The 3rd rep said same thing as the 1st rep and different from 2nd rep.

The me asking bovada if i could play in canada and request any cashout, i spoke to probably 6 different reps before i even came to canada and all of them assured me i would have no problem playing on bovada in canada. Otherwise i use up my tournament tickets the month before i was going to leave the us and of course cash out my whole balance. Now i cannot log into my acct until i get back to the us which is going to be 3-6 months.

I dont understand your comment. Bovada is only us based... so if thats true then why did 6 representatives all on the phone told me i would have no problem at all? I knew bovada was the name for us players but i asked them if i could use bovada and they said yes.

They told me on the phone when i was speaking to them bovada is us based so i can't play. Okay... then those 6 times i called/emailed back in the last 2 years why didnt they say that then. I just can't believe every rep gave this wrong info for me. Im lucky i didnt keep 5 figures there b/c i would be upset i won't be withdrawing my money until 3-6 months from now. Also, when i went to las vegas last year for a few months, i asked bovada if i could cashout from nevada and they told me no since i could only request and pick up the money myself in ny since i can only cashout by w/u and mg. So b/c of that, i withdrew my whole balance before heading to nevada and not keeping any money there.

Lol how did you get that from his answer?

He's being intentionally vague. It's all b.s. when ppl talk about site softness/toughness anyways. Just go on and see for yourself.

Anyone receive back to school bonuses yet? Kind of curious why the time fluctuates so much.

I am sure this has been addressed several times, but I am too lazy to look. It seems like Bovada has steep fees for withdrawing funds, 10%ish. Is this a standard for other sites (i.e. Pstars or FT)?

Those fees are only for WU or MG. One free check per month. Checks come quickly and never have an issues through the ATM.

Pstars and FT aren't taking the same risk as Bovada. The fees are mostly what is charged to them and not money they are pocketing.

It depends on the method of your withdrawal. I know you get one free per calendar month. I have never actually calculated it out but for max withdrawal (WU/2000) its like 150 and (MG/800) its like 60. So its less than 10% if my math is correct. I noticed they increased the withdrawal fee to 200 for a time being but for me anyway its back to 150. Assuming they got a ton of complaints.

Back to school promotion credited to account too. In case anyone is interested

Although the payouts are kinda steep depending on method of withdrawal they are currently the best US site out there and based on what I have been reading and my personal experiences withdrawals are very fast.

just introduced not even a week ago zone poker..bovada's version of zoom and rush poker. THere is a main issue with the software, when you check the check fold button in the big blind..it automatically folds your hand...there is a big issue here..

I was referring to when you asked in this thread about what to do and were told Bovada was US only; you even asked if you should uninstall Bovada and install Bodog, which seems to indicate you were somewhat aware of the problem already. But if you were already here, obviously that wouldn't have helped with your expiring tickets or being able to cashout.

As for why their CS gave you incorrect answers, I have no idea and certainly am not defending it. I'd definitely be contacting Bodog if I were you, and not letting this go easily.

Just to clear this up.. it doesn't fold your hand, it just moves you on to the next hand. Your hand is still active on the previous table, with the check/fold option clicked. If you get walked (or win the hand through some other means like getting to showdown and having the best hand), you will still win the hand and pick up the money in the pot. If there is any raising or betting in the hand, it will fold your hand.

The reason why i had asked this was because i know bovada is the name for the us facing brand and bodog is the name for canada. So i thought i would have to play on bodog but still have access to my funds on bovada since they told me i have no problems at all playing or withdrawing on bovada after they told me no problems.

They told me there is nothing i can do and my account will be locked until i get back to the us. They said bodog is different company so nothing they can do.
