You're baffled because you think it's as simple as an employee pressing a button - it isn't.

I doubt you're comparing this to anything that is analogous. Online poker sites let you deposit money fairly easily (and some take fault with this and would prefer all the identity checking happened then), so when you look to cash out, sometimes you have to jump through some hoops. There is a lot of fraud they have to deal with, as well as money laundering concerns.
Also, you don't seem to be taking another major factor into account - your own government. The laws in the US have made it so that poker sites need to use third party payment processors, which increases the hassle exponentially.

This is an entirely new concept where your generation thinks that because something came up in your social life (absolutely, completely unimportant), work just doesn't get done that week. Totally new thing.
LOL @ this being some kind of "millennial" thing, or a "new concept" to "your generation". I think when most people think of millennials, the last thing they think of is patience - more like instant gratification, waiting for nothing, etc. If most of us read two posts - one that was upset because they couldn't get their money from a poker site right away, and another that said they need to be patient, I'm confident if we were inclined to assume that one was a millennial, it wouldn't be the second poster. But regardless, to look at this as some kind of generational issue is ridiculous. The people who are telling you to be patient are those who have been around poker for a number of years.
Hey, if having to jump through some hoops for your first cashouts isn't your thing, I totally get that, and I'm sure most other people do as well. You don't have to be satisfied with it. But getting all worked up about it isn't going to help. Posting constant updates and derailing threads isn't going to change anything. Emailing the sites constantly for updates (if you are) isn't likely to change anything. Just do everything they're asking, and give it some time. Then once you have your money, if the process makes you that miserable (keeping in mind that once you've gone through this once, you're much less likely to have to again), then call it quits with online poker.
