This may be the change that forces me over to ACR :/

We shall see, very disappointed though from first glance

I think this will be a slightly positive change for fish as their main concern is getting seated to a game quickly. Didn't think ratholing would be an issue, but yea that'll be a problem if the site doesn't fix that issue. I think because of a lack of table names, it's circumventing Ignition's anti-ratholing system that they had on the tables.

I wish I even had that option. Thanks to the great state I live in Ignition is literally the last place on the internet I can play poker

I'm sure a lot of recs weren't sitting around waiting for tables to spawn though, nor did all of them know they had to refresh the cash lobby when it would stick.

We'll see how HUD's play out. There is poker to be played outside of stat whoring & nobody else is able to use one right now either don't forget. I like hud's too but this could be fun & bring in new players who didn't want to play vs huds.

New update has brought on a lot of lag. I am using the casino tab trick. Anyone else?

This has to be the dumbest update I've ever seen done on an online poker site.

It's like they tried to fix a problem that didn't exist. I really see it driving a lot of fish away too, at least for the high stakes limit action. A lot of the fish don't want to play HU or 3 handed, now they never know when a fuller table is available or not. How many times are they going to try to take a seat with this new update, get seated at a short handed table, and just quit trying.... At least with the old way, it's easy enough to have the lobby open, refresh the lobby every minute while watching tv, and wait till you see a fuller game with an open seat. This new way is way too much clicking just to get taken to some unknown location that might be the same damn thing over and over.

Yeah very true. I think this is a lot more significant than the ratholing issue.

So I just had it seat me at a 30/60 lhe 6max. Get seated, I'm the second guy, sit out, walk away from laptop. Return to laptop and I've been booted from the seat but the table is still open and is now playing 4 handed with the other two seats not even available for me to take a seat in. So I go to the lobby to tell it to seat me at 30/60 6max, and it opens a second table, again me being the second guy. So I close both tables out. Tell it again to seat me at a 30/60 6max table and it takes me to the table and seat where I was just the second player, and doesn't give me the 4 handed going game... Soooooooooooooooo dumb. I was def out of the 4 handed game longer than 5 minutes (which was their rule for getting re-seated in a game you left).

Not sure what was happening there, because as far as I can tell, the five minute rule is gone.

Yep. Ratholing never bothered me in the least. I'm happy to take a bad player's chips a little at a time rather than all at once. And if it's a good player, I'd rather see him with a shorter stack.

Well, at least we all get to practice our HU's games, since most of the time you're seated w/ 1 or 2 other players. lol

Yeah, they just don't want to do poker. Ridiculous.

Question- Is is possible this seating arrangement directs players based on skill level?

We have a fix in place, just testing. Auto update will be out.

But as a poker player myself, not a huge fan of the changes. I don't mind stunting table selection, but it sucks to be forced to play HU's until the tables fill. If I'm deciding to play HU's, I get in a certain mind set and focus in, but I'm mostly a 6-max player.

They could fix this by just setting a min number of players needed to start playing or be seated and you could just get a waiting signal until others have selected this and the numbers are reached. But, more rake for them since they will be forcing more players to play SH tables. Who cares about user experience right?

re: Skill level seating arrangements I suppose it's possible but i would doubt it. At first glance I was like wtf this is weird and most likely sucks but after half hour of trying it and playing I'm not noticing much of a difference. Granted I quickly sat at 4 mostly full tables and have been on most of the same ones since (I'm not a crazy table switcher so I'm sure that helps). But I can def see a decent amount of positives in this and don't think those who are saying it will scare away fish are are right. Feel like fish tend to not pay a ton of attention to table selecting and usually just want to play when and what stakes they feel like it at that moment.

Anyone who doesn't want to play h/u can sit out. That seems to be the norm so far. In fact, the games sometimes don't start until a fourth player grabs a seat.

I'm having trouble finding reasons to knock this change.

I'm not sure that sitting around and waiting for more players to join the table sounds very appealing to anyone whether they are recs or regs.

It also creates a problem that didn't exist before. I could just select a table with more than two players, now that's not possible I'll have to wait.

And if you don't think they can easily add an update for a script that directs players based on skill levels (provide one isn't already active), there is your reason.

it's nice that tables basically don't die. been playing ~hr 1/2 and every table pretty much has been full. seems to be a decent amount of player rotation too with both regs and rec players going in and out. tbh rly rly good games esp for off peak.

I just don't understand why ratholing is such a problem, maybe someone can explain? Generally, aren't people that have shorter stacks bad players? If they don't want to play deep, would you rather them sit out x minutes? Or would you rather them be able to immediately sit down with you again? Seems like the timers hurt better players more than the ratholers.

Just noticed while clicking out of Ignition that in the top of the little box it said: "ignition casino -- eu"

Never noticed the "eu" before. Not trying to start conspiracy theory :-] -- but wonder if it portends anything?
