Not 100% sure where to post this question so I'm posting it on this thread.

I currently pay at Carbon Poker but I am looking around to see what else is out there. I here that Bovada has a lot of fish compared to other sites. My problem is the lack of a rakeback deal.

But since Carbon implemented their new VIP cashback system, I think it might be worth a change. The most I could envision myself receiving on Carbon is Ether, which is 25% rakeback. Over a sample of about 17.5k hands, I get raked about $0.84/100 hands at 10nl 6max. If I were to get 25% rakeback, this would be $0.21/100 hands, or 2.1 bb/100 hands.

My question: If I were to switch to Bovada, would the decrease in competition be enough to overcome the 2.1 bb/100 I would lose in rakeback?

I sent you a message Jones, but the one thing that is nice about Bovada is guys that come over from the Sports-book looking to blow their money. You don't get that at carbon because everyone there are poker players. I think it more than would make up for the rakeback that you are getting at carbon.

I emailed bodog and told them I at least wanted my $27 flop call refunded, and to their credit they refunded me pretty quickly.

Is this a known glitch? I'm wondering if the original raiser knew of the glitch and knew that the shorty would open back up the betting if he shoved.
I discovered the same bug last night playing PLO8. In a .50/$1 game I had raised to around $6 and someone went all-in for around $8 and I noticed it gave me the option to pot it again.

I play a good amount of ring PLO and have not noticed this bug, it's a huge glitch/issue if true.

Yes, it's soft enough that most players do just as well without rakeback. Also,

FYI, the majority of players on Merge have access to a SB/Casino at this point from their operator, so there are also sportsbook fish there... albeit, not as many, different environment.

Did not know Merge Operators implemented a Sportsbook. I think there still would be a difference though in that a majority of the players that are going to play on Bovada are there for the casino sportsbook as their main priority, as maybe with Merge people go there to play poker and the Sportsbook is an afterthought. I could be wrong though.

Nope you are entirely correct. I tried to convey that in my message while simply correcting a factual error

Anybody else noticed the games have gotten much tougher on Bovada in last couple months? I suspect it's related to deposit bonuses and new rakeback deal that I saw is being offered has flooded the market with regs at microstakes.

I agree the games used to be super soft and I have consistently cashed out around $800-1000 per month over the past year playing between 60-80 hours a month. But ever since the start of the new year, it has been a struggle just to turn a profit. Maybe all the fish are just drying up, but the games don't seem nearly as soft as they used to be.

Feel free to save the "you're a breakeven player who was just running good" comments.

Id suggest that maybe it also has to do with some American regulars running from Fair Play Technology and the endless supply of people that feel the need to flood the online poker forums with posts declaring how juicy the games are at Bovada.

People should understand that if just one regular winning player hears you say how "juicy" the games are at a site and that one good player takes your advice and replaces a bad player at every one of your 6max tables your win rate has just dropped regardless of your skill level. It really amazes me that people dont understand this basic concept and or do not care.

Btw, Bovada is offering RB now? Could you elaborate on that Royalty?

Thanks

I recently got an email from one of the affilliates I used to use for another site saying something about a new RB deal they were offering for Bovada. I already play there and figured i was out of luck so I just deleted it but maybe i should have read it a little closer.

Are you sure it wasn't just a kickback deal?

i made my first withdraw of 3k few days ago and it was processed and showed up on my skrill acct within 2 hours (awesome!) but yesterday when I tried to withdraw 7k, it's been taking them nearly 24 hrs to process and few emails back and forth and telling me they are reviewing my acct? I even offered to send them copy of my passport and utility bill but they said no need unless i was instructed to. wtf?

Any of you had this problem before?

I received emails recently from affiliates regarding signing up at Bovada, but when you dug a little deeper though, there was no actual RB involved. Perhaps you received something similar fwiw.

This was probably most likely. I also got similar emails.

You aren't going to get much advice, or sympathy about a 24 hour withdrawal time in the Bovada thread, which is for US players on The Bodog Network. You may want to search IP for The Official Bovada thread... no one on Bovada can use Skrill
