The only thing i can think of is that you had a 100% problem on your end but they also had a simultaneous problem on their end.

I suspect your refund was a rare event.
I didn't seem to be suffering any disconnections, or anyone else I knew at the time that played there. I was simply just sitting out for the majority of some games due to 3rd party software not functioning properly, and I straight up told them exactly as much, and asked for a "one time credit", even though it wasn't their fault. They applied a refund, and stated it was a "one time credit". So indeed, this refund appears to be rare. I can assume that perhaps it's applied once per lifetime.

It's always possible that their system was doing something odd at the exact same time as my software was malfunctioning, but that is highly improbable at best.

I find that using the words "one time credit" seems to evoke an almost magical response most of the time, if not all the time.

Who knows, maybe I got an agent that was ill trained, or that was feeling in an exceptionally good mood. Can't really say why they did it for me, but seem to reject the requests of others.

Yup. Prolly was not a once in a lifetime event though. Also it always helps to be nice on the phone. This is because soooo many people who call up talk with a condescending tone.

On second thought, I feel so many people have been having problems with their latest software update that they are being more proactive with compensation.

They lost like 20% maybe more since this latest software update and people are pissed to say the least. They are second biggest site worldwide (don't trust pokerscout #s) and this is a huge deal for them. They have never ever ever taken such a hit in traffic in the history of bovada/bodog.

I have a monster sports bonus from poker points and sent an email today asking how long i have to clear it. CS responded to my email AND proactively called me to ask me if I have any more questions. They do not want to lose loyals. I was really impressed that they called me (5 months if you're curious)

Lastly, when you call cs they know exactly how much money you have deposited and how much you have withdrawn over the life of the account (ask them if you don't believe me). If you are in the red you are more likely to get a lot of freebies etc.,

This..

And for me it happens very rarely so it's not something that I'm always on the lookout for.. it sneaks in every once in a while.

Also I've had the software crash before and when I load it back up literally nothing pops up. The lobbies used to so you could just click take my seat.

Now you have to open every tournament from the list and retake your seat.

Still can't believe the amount of bugs left after this terrible update.

Something that I do to help mitigate this issue is to leave lobbies open until the game starts. I then check every once in a while to see if the "Take My Seat" button is there or not, and if the game has started. Only after the game starts do I close the game lobby. It's a pain, but I haven't thought of any other solutions. It's certainly better than having to open up every single lobby to see which one hasn't fired.

There is a huge difference between cash games and tournaments. They don't (and never have, besides one-off rare exceptions) do cash game refunds if you disconnect. I don't play MTTs or SNGs but from what I have read in this thread they do provide refunds if you can't reconnect for those and it was a site wide issue.

You'd think that having a "recreational" model they'd not even consider dropping stud.
They must have gotten rid of stud in order to let their software run more smoothly.

My uniformed guess would be that stud doesn't play well on mobile/web-based and that is clearly the direction they are moving in (and the industry as a whole).

I know there is no fee for depositing BTC, but is Bovada fair when converting to USD? Do they present an exchange rate for you to view before depositing?

Thanks!

What is wrong with this godforsaken site?? Today I was "disconnected" and logged out of the lobby, but still was able to play at all my open tables. Is this real life? How does that even happen? What sort of alternate-universe physics govern this place?

I've had that happen to me a few times since the last update.

Stud was removed because Stud was never supported on the mobile client. Therefore when they ported the mobile client to the PC client they took out Stud.

Anyone else getting disconnected a high amount today? I get disconnected but can still my tables. Once I log back in I can't rebuy on any of them and have to play short stacked 6 max. Says the connection between your device and our server has been interrupted please try to buy chips again. Haha.

Yeah, which is really unfortunate. Stud is a really good change of pace from the other games. The only site that has Stud running anymore is WPN and those games are very sporadic. I'm really hoping Bovada/Bodog brings back Stud.

At this moment, the exchange rate offered on deposits is 1 BTC = $417.18 USD. You can select a deposit amount and it will give you the exchange rate which is valid for 15 minutes.

Logged in about 5 minutes ago and since have only seen blank lobbies for cash games/SNGs/MTTs.

Logged out and logged back in, no change. My internet seems fine though, anyone else having a similar issue?

Yes, when I made my test deposit the exchange rate they used was pretty much exactly where Coinbase was at that minute. They weren't hiding a fee in there by giving a bad rate.

And yes, they display the exact exchange rate they are using before you deposit... so if for some reason you didn't think it seemed fair you just don't have to send the BTC.

Is the mobile client pretty reliable? Could I play in my cubicle at work without a problem?

So is Bovada just permanently broken? It's been months now. What are they doing?

they change their guarantees very often generally and ive noticed that in past series' they have lowered guarantees in certain dailies. i guess they just do not have the volume to reach guarantees on every midstakes+ daily tourneys while the series are going on. makes sense with 6 games a day. I wonder if they beat the overlays during the series and this is a marketing strategy??

I just logged in to try to get into some mtts. The whole lobby is empty and I get a popup saying unable to process my request at this time. Is it time to get a new version of windows or is this happening to others?

Edit: Well the mtts are showing now, but the lobbies come up very slow.
