I just received a check from Bodog postdated April 3, 2009. The bank oviosly refused to cash it. I'm emailing bodog now, interested to see their response.

i just got a check from bodog also. Its not postdated. Its from canada. International countries usually put the day before the month. if the date says 04-03-2009, thats march 4th in most international countries. The check is fine. If u look at the check closely, i'm sure under the 04 it says DD and under the 03 it says MM for day and month respectively. Hope this helps. Congrats on your winnings.

your right balla, I'll have to inform the bank (you'd think they woulda known that but I guess not). Can't blame Bodog for this one.

Also your bank probably wont want to give you cash for a foriegn check. Just deposit it into your checking. Or better yet just put it in the atm or after hours drop box and you won't even have to talk to anyone.

always best to deposit via atm, in my opinion. be aware re: foreign checks in usd...banks are beginning to charge a fee for cashing these checks. for long term purposes, you may want to look into banking with someone who doesnt charge these fees. im a fee nit.

I've now had several successful payouts with Bodog. They all process <10 days, ship FedEx Express, and are drawn on a Canadian bank. All funds are cleared and available within 3 days of deposit, which is standard for most checks over $500 with my bank anyway. I've deposited via ATM and Teller...no one cares.

As far as the date goes, they do list them in a DDMMYYYY format, and it even spells is out directly below the date for anyone who's paying attention.

For instance, my last check looks something like this:

1 1 0 3 2 0 0 9
d d m m y y y y

Just point that out to the teller if they give you any trouble.

As far as I'm concerned, Bodog has all payment issues resolved until the convince me otherwise. I've had no problems whatsoever, and couldn't be any happier.

Absolute does this, too. The secret is to rub the pencil lead on your finger, then rub your finger over the paper/card for the embossment. It works perfectly. Trying to get a good embossment running the pencil over the paper/card is just irritating.

I've been reading this thread for a while and I just might re-deposit again and give bodog another shot. Seems like the payouts are going much faster. In the past I've waited up to six weeks for a check to arrive and I was pissed at the time...but I did get it eventually after waiting and waiting and it cashed it with no problem.

I love bodog, except the payouts in the past for me took forever. I'm going to give them another shot tomorrow and deposit 400 big ones. When I payout (hopefully more than 400, haha)...I'll post again in this thread and let you know how it goes.

just a side note , I deposited with ewallet express , they charge a huge ammount for withdraw , but they will not cash out to them . So if the Bodog payout is free I actually came up a little more and may play here to get this advantage again .

1) Deposit it at an ATM instead of with a teller: standard advice here.

2) I haven't gotten a hold on any check in years, regardless of amount or country. I think it's mostly about the bank's relationship with you. E.g. if you bounce checks they'll delay availability on checks. They credit me with everything the next day.

i'll do that next time for sure...i haven't ever bounced a check as far as i know...though we're talking a credit union and not a national bank.

i didn't like being questioned and made to stand around for 10 minutes (like bodog's bank is going to answer the phone, lol), but i can remember 40 days for getting the chance to get questioned, too.. 3 days from fedex makes me a happy panda...

I just received an e-mail with the fedex tracking # today but they said it is for a check of $350.17 ?? Do they split it up into multiple checks or is something weird here?

ok nevermind... I just called the customer service and apparently they messed up the email... The representative said the check in it's entirety ($2550) should arrive tomorrow.
