fwiw I've deposited a check before for ~1800 with no issues.

They offered to return the check to me if I wanted to do that instead of waiting but I don't see that really expediting the process.
Was this a large bank or a credit union? I've seen it happen to people who use smaller banks/credit unions but rarely large banks.

Bank Wire canceled by Bovada, their reason was because searching my name shows I'm "affiliated with poker". They changed me to VFF+check

That's what "collections" is. It's a pretty common occurrence for some people in this thread. Mainly depends on your bank's policies and your account history (though there can be lots of other factors, as well).

Got a text from dhl saying my check is on the way to be delivered from the far east. I've only ever received checks from the north. Are these checks from the east the kind you can deposit via the atm? What about depositing via my banks phone deposit app? Is that a possibility? That would essentially be the same as depositing via an atm, right?

Step 1: Go to ATM
Step 2: Deposit Check in ATM
Step 3: Profit

It is a regional subsidiary of a multinational bank. Do you like Salamanders?

Oh ok, I've heard of collections but wasn't aware that this was the process. I will reread some of the thread to get an idea of people's experiences. Really lame that a check for 1k more than previous check gets flagged

Hi,

Thanks for contacting Bovada Poker Customer Service.

We still have the same process/fees for deposits while for withdrawals, every request via Check by Courier has now a $50 fee. We've made the change to ensure that our players get their funds using the best option.

Moving forward, the first option for your withdrawal is Visa Fast Funds (VFF) and you're entitled to a one free withdrawal per calendar month through VFF or Bank Wire. Then, a $50 fee will be charge on your succeeding requests or per increment within the same month.

We’re available to help 24/7 if you need anything else.

Thanks,

Poker Customer Service
poker@bovada.lv

wow so as of the start of this month every check no matter what is $50? that's pretty damn weak. guess it's now worth it to re deposit and get vff going on a new card.

FWIW, I'm still able to withdraw via check for free. VFF is also free, but I think it always has been. Maybe it depends on your state?

I requested 2/26 and was approved/processed 2/26. Still nothing. Not too worried. Last few payouts have been quicker though. I emailed support today (4th business day) to see what they say.

Nothing more discouraging than seeing people who requested their checks on the same day as you get their checks and then people who request after you get theirs as well. /pity party.

Yeah, its slow now for sure. I requested a withdraw like five days ago and they haven't even approved it yet, its still pending.

Just out of curiosity, did you guys get charged with the monthly maintenance fee last month? Myself and another poster reported that we didnt. Although it could be nothing, that was somewhat concerning to me. I mean, really, you forgot to take our money? I tried to contact the card company about it to see if maybe it was just a technical error, which it very well could be, but they seemingly rarely answer phones or emails so I didn't get very far with my inquiry.

I just checked and I did not get charged the monthly maintenance fee for Feb.

Thanks neecoo. It seems it was across the board that they didn't collect any fees this past month FWIW. Anyways, please post when you get your withdraw or anything.

Detailed account of my withdrawal via check:

I live in TX, check came from Singapore. I bank with a large bank that has the name of a 1996 Coen Brother's film in the title.

2/19: requested ~$1800 withdrawal
2/19: processed/approved
2/29: text from DHL saying check should arrive by 3/2
3/2: another DHL text saying check to arrive today - CHECK ARRIVED
3/3: deposited check in person to teller at local branch ($400 available now)
3/4: remaining ~$1400 available

Took 8 business days for check to arrive. The waiting sucks, but within the given time frame and so far the funds are still there! Can't complain.

Just checked - No monthly maintenance for Feb and still no funds loaded for withdrawal approved 2/26.

Emailed Bovada yesterday - Said they would forward my request to the withdrawal team. Nothing back from them yet.

edit: card still works fine- had a small balance and used it last night

2/25 Requested check for $7202
2/25 processed
2/29 Received check for 720.29 from Canada
3/4 Deposited and all funds available immediately

I've always used VFF because I've never wanted to deal with any issues from a teller because I bank with a very small credit union. She deposited it without any questions and I'm not even sure she realized it was a Canadian check.

I think I may use checks to cash out more frequently as they seem to process much quicker. Many times with VFF I end up spending my money while I'm waiting for it to process.

This is interesting. I have heard this before. I do mainly wires but don't play tournaments. Are you in Hendon Mob or something? Wonder what they search. Anyone know?

3k check requested 3/1. Still waiting on approval 3-1/2 days later. Strange given how fast others seem to get approval recently. I've also had dozens of checks sent before and always approved same day or next day. I emailed support and they just said it is still processing.......

Is anyone having any issues with the Bovada prepaid mastercard (Adn...) getting declined? I tried to use it tonight at a merchant where I have used it successfully in the past and it was declined, despite the fact that I have sufficient funds on the card. Is anyone else having problems? I tried calling their support but of course nobody was available to help.
