Most large chains say about 3-8 weeks for foreign checks to clear. Most of us just don't notice because our checks don't go to collections.

Bells Cargo

Edit: Only had like 8 dollars in fees/discrepancy from what I cashed out, likely due to relative strength of US dollar against the Euro.

Is it possible to cash a bovada check like any other check at one of those check cashing stores? I currently don't have a bank account and I am wondering if they are able to get cashed because I have heard some problems with people cashing checks at their normal banks and things of that nature

I deposited a check last Wednesday and it was cleared the next day I thought because the funds were in my account. I woke up this morning and the funds weren't there!! Anyone know if that means it bounced? Or should I wait a day or two to see if it goes back into my account?

Checks don't clear in a day. It's possible that it bounced or that your bank put it through some sort of collections. Best to call them. Also read up on how checks work.

For those of you who use the prepaid Visa cards to deposit, how do you do it? Do you just pay the monthly fee each month? Or do you put money on your card, deposit and then just cancel your prepaid card? I just bought one and can't figure out how I will be able to avoid paying the monthly fee. Plus, where does the fee come from? Do they just subtract it from your card balance?

Also, if I have $200 on my prepaid card, do I need to deposit onto Bovada for something less than $200 (bc they will take fees)?

I got yet another fraudulent charge on my credit card because of Bovada (or their payment processors), so I no longer want to use my credit cards to deposit onto the site. It's a pain having to get a new card and new card number reissued. That's why I bought the prepaid Visa.

My wife received a call from the bank today. They were asking ALOT of questions about where the checks came from and what they were for. They said the checks looked fraudulent/counterfeit. She just told them she didn't know where they came from or what they were for, that it was my business. They told her it could take months for the checks to clear and that if they didn't, we were responsible for covering the funds (LDO). This isn't a huge problem at the moment, but if I wanted to wait months to receive my money I would still be playing on Lock. Is anyone currently having problems with checks clearing?

And to those who will say I should use another method for withdrawal, a check is the only option I have.

Hoping you are using a NSpend Visa. They are the most convenient and safest way to deposit on Bovada. The monthly fees get subtracted from your balance, but iirc there is only a fee per one month the card is inactive. The NSpend's are reloadable at any CVS. You just give the cashier the amount of money you wish to deposit + the $3.95 fee and you should be ready to directly deposit into your bovada account. When you purchase a NSpend Visa, it is a temporary card, once activated, you will receive your own official card in the mail within a few days with your name printed on it. It works like a regular debit card.

If you haven't had any issues before now, then doubling the check value shouldn't change much. I've regularly deposited checks from Bovada in both of those ranges without any collections issue (with a different bank, though).

That sounds really strange. Do you bank at a smaller institution? Ive never had any issues with any checks clearing.

geegeebye

My card says "PowerPay" on it, not Nspend, but otherwise looks the same. I loaded it by giving cash to the cashier with no fee for the initial load and can reload it for $3.95 in the future.

But it has a monthly fee and also has a 2% foreign transaction fee. So to load, I will now have to pay this 2% fee along with Bovada's 4.9% fee? The prepaid Visas seem like a pain if there is a monthly fee, etc. I always heard people recommend them but now I'm wondering why. I guess it's better than having to get fraudulent charges on your credit card and change numbers every few months though.

It is a smaller bank. I do have an account at "synnacle" bank, anyone have anyone success or failures with them?

I'm not sure what bank you're referring to, but it's best to get an account with one of the large, national banks. I was having tons of issues w/ my credit union, but haven't had any since switching to the American flag bank.

The bank rhymes why cynical, is a cheap golf ball, and is defined as the highest point.

Are they most likely going to call me and ask where the check came from? And what happens when they send it to collections?

I just opened an account with bovada and tried to download the client. Everything is successful til it goes to live update and then I get an error message "ssl handshake failure" and it tells me to try again later. Customer service basically told me to just keep trying. Is this something that happens often? Kind of annoying, jonesing to play and am told to just stand by and keep trying.

What did your bank say when you called them?

Ive had my bovada account for years, made a deposit recently with visa debit. There is currently no CC withdrawal option. How do I activate that option. Thanks
