While I think everyone wants to know info about cashouts I think we should post as little info possible as cryptic as possible. Posting specific info probably puts us at risk of having more problems.

I would bet that Bovada is already aware of the problem with this processor since someone reported it to them already so I would feel ok cashing out now but I think someone else did just post a check requested on the 23rd from the same place.
i got one of these checks and it bounced. First time this has happened.

Like the other poster said it looked odd, no tear off, just stapled onto a piece of paper and it was from a place i've never gotten a bovada check from.

Hopefully this is easily resolved. Bovada has always been great and i assume this was an isolated incident from a bad processor.

I requested two checks right before I moved. I was at my new place when the checks came and thus missed the delivery. I sent an e-mail asking to re-send them if they got sent back. It turns out that the delivery company still had the checks in their office, so I picked them up and have deposited one, a few days ago. However, I just received an e-mail from Bovada saying that they have placed XXXX back in my account. This is the same check I just deposited.

So ...

I assume I don't have some kind of Monopoly-esque banker's error is in my favor-type of situation, right? I have to e-mail them back with this and check my bank?

Will the check bounce? I'm not sure if the check has gone through yet, it was deposited on Wednesday and they're usually fairly quick for int'l checks.

OK so I have a big problem here guys, hoping someone can help me out. (Long time lurker, just now made an account)

So basically I requested a check about a week ago. Same old thing, I trust Bovada and have used them for a few years now, never have I had a problem cashing a check (although I get relatively nervous at times after reading horror stories on here).

So anyway I get a check and it's not Canadian which is odd because that's the ones I'm used to, either those or the Singapore ones. So I deposit it into my account and it clears the next day. Or so I thought.

A week later I check my account and my bank had taken the funds OUT of my account AND they issued me a fee. Apparently the payor issued a "Stop Payment" on the funds even after they were in my account and my bank took them out!

So I've been on hold on and off with Bovada agents trying to get this figured out. They said this recently happened to someone else as well so I'm guessing I'm not the only one this happened to. I'm pissed because I've never had a problem in the past and this is making me look shady to my bank as this has never happened before and they're actually charging me for something I have no control over.

What do you guys suggest I do? If I can get a new check how can I be sure the same thing won't happen? I'm mad because had I spent those funds I would have gotten money taken out of my bank and put me in the negative and would have to deal with paying back the funds I spent even though they were mine.....what can I do? Sorry if I sound like I'm whining here or crying over something little, I do not believe I am. I'm just enraged that after funds go into my account they can be taken out with no notice to me at all. I'm hesitant to talk to my bank about this as they may question where the funds were from and start asking questions.

EDIT: like someone else mentioned this check was stapled to a piece of paper and wasn't a tear off like the ones I'm used to receiving. It also looked pretty bad in terms of what you would expect a legit check to look like.

lol, that's my problem, except for I asked them only to resend or put back the funds if they get sent back, which they didn't

I'm just angry because I've never had a stop payment put on a check before....let alone a check for a decent sized amount. Just very frustrating I feel like this is going to take a long time to resolve...ugh and NFL season is coming up quick too...

Seems like a few of us got sent bad checks from one of the processors. It doesn't seem to be a widespread issue and i'm sure Bovada won't be using that processor to issue checks anymore.

I was told i need to get a picture of the returned check or get a stamped letter from my bank explaining why it was rejected.

Definitely a pain in the ass but this is the first time i've had any check issues.

welp, I went ahead and called them

The lady said that that check will, in all likelihood, bounce. I have a very small amount of money in my checking account atm, hopefully enough to cover the fees. Bovada says they'll reimburse those fees.

I guess I'll have to call my bank tomorrow. If the money hasn't gone through (it's only been two days), then I don't think I'll be hit with the bounce fees.

Edit: does one typically receive a call when their checks bounce? I'm taking the silence from the bank as a good sign.

I also received one of these checks, should I be expecting it to bounce?

How can I avoid taking any ridiculous fees? Keep my balance above the amount was written for?

i think most all banks charge for a bounce, mine was $7.50 for the chargeback fee.

Not sure if it's different if there isn't enough money in account to cover the chargeback amount, i had enough to cover it in my account.

I guess 7.50 isn't a big deal i just hear getting hit with some ridiculous charges over something that isn't my fault

thanks for the info though, wonder what happened with that batch of checks we received

The processor probably robbed Bovada.

Mine from the shady processor has been in the account since the 19th, with nothing popping up yet, so there might be some hope that they're not all going to bounce. Who knows though, wild wild west yo.

possibly. Mine was deposited on the 25th and the chargeback was on the 28th, so if it's been over a week you might be ok.

it could be the checks before that from this processor were ok.

Anyone use Blue Bird by Merica Expressions. It's a prepaid card that allows you to deposit checks with a phone app. They have them at Wal-karts

Is there fees for rapid transfer payouts?

Like one free withdrawal every month or so.

Thanks for updating.

Although in the future when you edit a post I think it is common practice to leave the original post and then post what you wrote In your edit underneath it after the word "edit:".

That way the original post doesn't disappear and people don't think they are going crazy.

Has anyone tried the rapid wire transfers or whatever? What was your experience? Do they just deposit money into your checking account? How long did it take? Any hidden fees?

Thanks.
