Tracking numbers aren't sent via email, but can be found in your Bovada (and probably other skins) inbox after you log in on the website.

Ive cashed atleast 10 checks at this bank, and even cashed one 3 weeks ago the last two were from Canada. Does anybody have any ideas?
try atm or mobile deposit, or get a new bank

If they say it's a routing number problem, then either A) it's their ineptitude, B) they have a policy on not cashing foreign checks, or C) the entire bank that the check was drawn has shut down.

I'll put $100 down on A), please.

As for what you should do, I'd go back to the same bank, try a different teller, and failing that, tell them to try harder. If that fails, throw a hissy fit. If that fails, then yeah, probably only option is to try a different branch and/or bank. There's no reason they shouldn't be able to accept it, though.

Thanks madcatz and dangerdan, the atm, and mobile deposit didn't work. But as I said in my earlier post I have deposited checks there before, so it is probably option a. Ill go back tomorrow and ask the again, and even give the option to place a hold on the check for as long as they need.

I see a lot of people are having their checks stuck in TN also. Is it a must that I call fedex and have them trace it? I don't mind waiting an extra week or 2 or whatever, I just want to know I'm going to get the damn thing.

forget about tracking #s, its rare for me to get a tracking # before the check arrives. Usually get them after the check arrives, Unless its DHL, they text me when to expect delivery.

So I am doing quite well on Bovada and often have max checks queued 4-5 weeks deep. But the thing is, I like to travel on a whim and am often gone for a month or more. I am sure I can make arrangements with Fedex/DHL so that I do not have to sign for the checks, but I am worried that they will go bad and bounce by the time I come back home. I guess the most obvious solution is to just do wires, but I am hesitant since the checks seem to always work with only the $50 fee while the wires sometimes have massive fees (according to this thread) and can take a very long time to arrive.

What do you/would you do in my situation? Just doing checks, I feel stuck in my hometown. I would like the freedom to travel whenever I want and for as long as I want. Right now, I am thinking I will just do wires anyway and deal with the fees/hassles.

/first world problems

Maybe make a joint bank account with someone you can trust like your family members and have them deposit the checks for you?

Bankwire fee is pretty crazy.. I get charged by the original bank, my own bank, loss due to currency exchange, and bovada takes a cut =\ And they are much slower than checks and I have several queued up and they don't come in order at least for me. So I am kind of paranoid whether they just forget to send one accidentally or not. I always have to keep track.

He would still have to endorse the check, though it's still probably not a bad idea. Having someone else to sign your name most likely isn't going to be a problem. It's probably even legal in most states, since there's no criminal intent and it's with consent. (I'm not an attorney, not providing legal advice, yada yada)

I'm sure you can find a bank that doesn't charge, you must be at a small branch.

Every bank I've seen charges a collection fee (mine is $25 for domestic, $75 for international, plus any fees from the drawn bank). Now whether or not the check gets sent to collections in the first place is another story -- none of mine have ever been sent to collections.
