I requested my payout on 5/26 and it was approved yesterday 5/28. It looks like it might come in today seeing some of the posts on this page. I don't have a bank account ATM and this is my first time withdrawing a check from Brovada.

I really wanted this money for this weekend so I think I'm going to go to a check cashing place when it comes in. Can anyone give me advice on this? Will they ask me questions about where the check is from? It's my first time going to one of these places as well so I'm not sure exactly how it works. I hope they don't charge any more than 5%. Do they instantaneously draw the funds out of the check's checking account on the spot? I just want to make sure that if they do indeed cash it, I won't have to worry about it bouncing right?

Thank you for any advice on this I appreciate it.

I mean I guess it couldn't hurt trying, but I doubt they'll cash some shady foreign check for you. I'm sure they'll charge hefty fees if they do though. I'd just go open a bank account today and deposit the check when you get it.

I guess that's what I'll probably end up doing. I was hoping to get the money for this weekend because im going down to play live at the casino. And I could use the boost to my roll. Just surprised bovada told me to go to one of those places to cash it. I guess I'll just deposit it to a bank account and wait weeks for it to be cleared...

Most banks release the money right away or within a day or two, so you could have the money potentially, but it doesn't mean the check won't bounce still. Fwiw, I've had 1 bounced check in 5 years from Bovada so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I know bovada offers one free withdrawal per calender month. Could somebody tell me if the date they count is the date that you request the withdrawal? Or is it when they process the withdrawal? Thanks.

Thanks for the response, however what I meant was when is the withdrawal counted? For example if I request a withdrawal today(5/29) and it gets processed on 6/2 does that count towards my May free withdrawal or my June withdrawal?

Update on my withdrawal:

Requested: 4/26
Approved: 4/28
Check in hand on 4/29.

I went to open a new bank account with the check. I was smooth with the bank lady and she didn't even ask any questions about the check. She opened the account for me with the check as my deposit. The only thing she said was that it had to go through collections. And it might take a week for the funds to be available. I'm hoping it will be sooner but am relieved at how easy it was to deposit.

Great speed on the withdrawal bovada!

How long do checks that go through collections typically take for the funds to be available and to clear?

I asked support this a few month back and it is the request date. So as long as you request it by say 5/31/14 it will count as your free may withdraw.

I read you are straight, but just for the record, and for other people that may have similar inquiries. I believe a Bovada phone rep just mistakenly told you that. In fact, many Bovada checks I receive, including one as recently as two days ago, go as far as to include instructions to specifically avoid check cashing places.

wtf. This is a first usually its the same rinse and repeat questions. But I never heard of this at all. Why would customs hold a check.

they were letting us do wu without depositing that way until about a month ago. if you want to open the option or mg just make a deposit that way. i did a mg a month ago and then withdrew that way a week later. its a bit better than wu now that wu has a 1k cap and mg has 800. fees are much better with mg.

as far as the check thats on the way, yes you should open a bank account for it, maybe just keep the bank account in case you need it again.
