If you are receiving WU funds, MAKE SURE to pick them up in a timely manner. Bovada won't state this publicly, but there is a 30-day period for picking up funds. If you do not pick up funds within this time period, they will be unavailable to cash out ever again.

I made a new post detailing my experience with this policy, also in the Internet Poker forum.

Can you tell me how long you've had your Bovada account?

Tried to deposit yesterday (pre-existing account from NY) and was told that Western Union was my only option and that I can't use the web...only phone or at a branch. Ok. So got all the info from the Bovada operator and tried WU via telephone. They take the info, try processing it, then tell me that I can't send money to this person via the phone method because it didnt pass "certain security measures" but I can try going to a branch and using cash to send. Has anyone ever encountered this?

New guy here. Been playing on Bodog/Bodog Life/Bovada since 2004. Never had an issue with a payout until last year.

I was sent a check in a pretty timely manner(I live in the US). I deposited via ATM per Bovada's instructions. My bank initially deposited the funds then pulled them a day later due to the check being rejected.

I contacted Bovada and was told that I needed to provide the rejected check in order to initiate a refund/new payout. Well the rejected check was either sent to an old address or was on file at an out-of-town branch of my bank. In other words I was not able to find it. The bank could not give me any details other than to tell me it was denied.

I figured that Bovada would consider my playing history and step in to help me, especially since the check in question was quite small($150). Nope, they were unwavering in saying that they needed the check. I took my business elsewhere.

Now, my buddies are getting back into Bovada and we like to play tournaments together. I looked up US laws about how long checks are obligated to be cashed. It seems checks are no longer valid after 180 days. It has now been 14 months since I tried to deposit the check. I can't see any reason that they shouldn't refund my money now as I couldn't 'scam' them even if I somehow still had the check and wanted to. I want a happy resolution to this situation and have contacted Bovada again in the hopes that they may budge.

Is anyone on this forum connected with Bovada? Any help available is appreciated. I have always had a good experience with them until this fiasco.

Anyone with a similar situation in the past that was able to get the refund? I like the site, but I can't deposit back into Bovada knowing that they still have my money in their bank somewhere and refuse to give it to me.

Sorry for the long post. Hopefully it turns out to be good experience!

There is zero official support here that can help you. I'm almost, also, 100% certain no one on these forums have any connections to Bovada, knowing how they operate.

Honestly, your bank screwed you, the check was fine. Also, if it did bounce they should have been able to provide you a copy of it.

So they mean you must deposit into the ATM?

I prefer to go inside to the teller and cash poker checks. Does it really matter if you use ATM vs going inside to the teller?

I have read that the max cash out for a check is $3,000. You get 1 free check per month, and every additional check you have to pay a $50 fee. Is this correct?

If a player had a big score, say for example $15,000, is it possible to withdraw all that within the same month? You get the first $3,000 free check, then 4 more checks and pay a $200 fee?

or do you have to wait a certain amount of time before you can cash out multiple checks?

No. It means deposit the check. Do not cash it.

Hey thanks for the responses. Can you explain why they would want someone to deposit the check instead of cashing it?

Are you supposed to deposit all checks from Bovada, or is it just when they include a note that says "please deposit" with the check?

I think everything you are asking about has been covered so you could search or do something crazy like askin the company. You could also wait until you actually have a check before asking all these questions.

sometimes the check will bounce, not often but its possible. if you cashed it and it bounces your in deep trouble, if its in your bank and bounces they just take the funds out.

depends on the bank. I bank at a small bank and I would be shocked if they didn't let me cash the check.

Is this the Bovada cashout thread or is this a middle school social studies class?

If not clearly identified on the back of the check, the proper place to sign is on the back of the check on the side where your name is printed on the front.

I believe they want you to deposit via ATM so there is less of a risk of you being too open with the tellers.
