Still waiting on two checks processed on 8/29 and 8/30. I have received 2 later cashouts, but not these.

Now they are telling me that Bovada will order the checks in such a way as to pay out the larger amounts first. Since they generally only send out one check per 7 days, my earlier cashouts (both for less than the later ones) should still be in queue.

Thoughts on this?

I'm gonna stop requesting checks until I get these 2.

I just had the fastest check turnaround in my small sample size of three checks:

Requested: Thursday, 9/19 2:30 PM
Processed: Thursday, 9/19 3:28 PM
Fed Ex Delivery: Monday, 9/23 8:45 AM

This is my first check from the North, however. The other two were from the East.

I was unable to deposit it with my app into my credit union. Will try the ATM and the teller if that doesn't work.

My elation was short-lived.

I was unable to deposit the check into the ATM so I went into my credit union branch to do it with the teller.

The teller was able to handle the check however he had to look up some things. He finally concluded that since it was an international check (even though it was from a contiguous nation and drawn on US funds) that they would have to use an outside processor to process it which would involve a wait of several weeks and more importantly a $75 fee.

For a check of only $150, that wasn't going to fly. So I took it back and now I am on hold with Bovada customer service. My hope is that they can issue me a check from the East again since I deposited two of those checks with zero problems or fees.

After a frustrating call where I went into circles and eventually had to get a supervisor on the line, Bovada offered and I accepted the following:
  1. I will deposit the check and pay the $75 fee
  2. They gave me $50 in bonus money immediately
  3. For future withdrawals I can use WU for a $40 (or more) fee

The other options they gave me were not very helpful for me personally though they may have been for others. They included:
  1. Stopping payment on the check ($40 fee and a week-to-10 day wait for funds to to back into my account)
  2. Opening a new account at a larger bank who would process international checks with less of a fee or none at all
  3. Endorsing it to a family member who could deposit it into a larger bank that they bank with

I also learned that despite my preference for checks from the east, they cannot (or will not) take requests for which banks checks are drawn. It's apparently a crap-shoot. Even though I had no problems with East checks, this doesn't matter, for this or any future withdrawals.

This means that my future cash-out options are as follows:
  1. A free check which may or may not cost me $75 to process no matter the check size.
  2. Western Union which will definitely cost me no less than $40 to process.

I am not a gambler, I am a nit! So in the future, I will ask for Western Union although before my next withdrawal I will ask them if I can choose Rapid Transfer (slightly less fees).

I am not thrilled with this. These fees might be "the cost of doing business" and are fine when cashing out for even as little as four figures, but they make being a recreational low-level grinder who likes to deposit $50 and withdraw $150 when I run that up to $250 cost-prohibitive.

I have a couple of things I might do here. I might just cash out and stop playing. Or maybe I'll take a shot with what is in my account and either get lucky or go broke and just not deposit again.

Best solution IMO

But yea, the current status of online poker isn't friendly towards people trying to make a few bucks at micro stakes

So I'm sort of new to online poker. On Bovada what exactly is a money transfer or rapid transfer for a payout compared to just a check

Bounced Check:

I received this email from Bovada on Sept. 13th. I received a replacement check last week. A previous poster stated that his replacement check bounced and confirmed via PM the processor and bank account that my replacement check is drawn on. Did have anyone else this replacement check and if so, what is the status?

We're contacting you about your payout of $7xx.22 that was processed on "August 22 with the reference number xxxxxxx.

We've been informed that due to a banking error, your check is not valid and will be rejected. Please discard the check if you haven't yet taken it to a financial institution as we have sent you a replacement check at no cost.

Note that you won't be able to cash out via Western Union or Rapid Transfer until you've done a deposit through that system. The option will be available but they will switch you to a check without warning and charge you the $50 fee if you've already withdrawn via your free check for the month.

I learned this the hard way last week though eventually got them to cancel the check before it was sent out.

Depositing via ATM this weekend. Super fast. Can't believe it really.
Okay, so I tried to deposit and they are telling me I have to fill out a form for customs and sign it. What's that about?

That's true, however based on with the customer service rep told me, they would work out an exception for me given my situation. Maybe I misunderstood or maybe they will not hold true to that when I look for a cash out next, but that's what I was told.

Hey all,

I have a question about withdrawing with Moneygram. I've never used it on Bovada, or in real life for that matter. Looking for those who have used MG and could help me out with a few questions.

I poked around this thread and I couldn't find the answers I was looking for. Specifically:
  • How do you receive the Moneygram? Is it a MTCN and information like with Western Union, or is it a paper you bring in somewhere?
  • Where is the Moneygram coming from? A few places around me won't cash it unless it was created at another of their branches/stores.
  • Are there typically fees associated with cashing it anywhere? Anyone have suggestions on the best places to go to cash them?
  • Anyone have any issues with cashing out up to the maximum of $800 w/ BV?

A lot of questions I know, but thanks in advance.

The replacement check did not bounce. You asked if my replacement check was the same as yours. It was. I then stated that my bounced check was drawn on the same bank but with a different business name. Two different sentences, two different checks.

Do you need to fax Bovada any kind of proof of your new address? Or do they just change it in there system pretty quickly and hassle free?

Thanks for the clear up. I also got a response from Bovada today that the replacement check is valid.

I've changed address many times. If you've already verified your ID you probably won't be asked for any proof.
