Deposit it like normal in my opinion. Although it has been my experience that local banks work best - if you have an account there. I have never had a problem at a regional bank or credit union depositing checks - even ones w/o a US bank affiliate.
And you don't need to hand that letter that is attached to the check to the cashier.
As long as you DO NOT go to a check-cashing place (aka not a bank) you will be fine. Your not supposed to use check-cashing places, and that is why there is a letter there saying it can only be cashed into an account with the account holders name on it. (also means don't endorse it either)
