Also...if you guys get a foreign check make sure the teller understands that the check is foreign. They have to be dealt with different than domestic checks.

Also many smaller banks and credit unions are NOT going to be able to accept/process foreign checks. Big banks are best option for foreign checks

"Refer to Maker" was the reason given by the issuing bank for not being able to cash my check. Not sure what that means.

Totally standard...they use more than one processor. A check to me might be from the States while your check might be from a different continent.

I would check with customer service, but why do you think I wouldn't be able to cash out through WU? Are there any restrictions??

Actually, reading about these hand-written checks is freaking me out.
I'm ready to pay some extra fee, but I need my money back.

You have to have history of deposit with WU. You can't just say, "hey Bodog I want to get a payout through WU"

Some people like me can't even use WU to deposit.

I have 4 pending max payouts via check. They were approved on Nov.27th, Dec.1, Dec.2, and Dec.3.

I was told by support that I would receive my Nov.27th payout sometime this week and that I would receive each successive check 7-10 business days after the previous check arrived. They assured me 7-10 business days would be the timeframe and not 15 business days.

They also told me that my Nov.27th check would be coming from a Canadian bank--not sure how they know that. I was not looking forward to a handwritten xxxxxxx check.

Also, for whoever was inquiring, live chat is an option if you go to the Bodog website. It does not open like it once did straight from the Bodog client

It's not dated 8/12 its date 12/8 they put the day before the month....

Did a little research and the bank in the xxxxxx is a subsidiary of a Canadian bank. I live close to Canada and it's a branch about 10 minutes away from where I live. Going to give the branch a call in the morning and see if they will cash it for me. BOA gave me the run around today so I didnt deposit the check, hopefully the Canadian bank can get this done for me. Will update.

It means the bank that the check was drawn on refuses to disclose the reason the check was returned to your bank. It could be a variety of reasons but my guess is the processor got flagged or shut down as that would be a unique reason that would not get disclosed. It could also be as simple as it bounced but the issuing bank does not want it presented again.

Requested the 26th and received today. Looked like every single other check I have ever gotten so I assume it will not be bouncing

This is correct. WU is their absolute last resort, and they will only pay you through it if you ONLY used WU. If you use your credit card once, it will now come by check every time forever.

I used a credit card before, therefore I am ineligible for WU or RT. (withdrawals that is, obv they will take your money any way they can get it)

Also annoying cashouts aren't going in order. Although they might of started taking a page out of CAKE's playbook and read this payout thread. On cake the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

It wasn't returned to my bank...I took it to the bank it's drawn on and they wouldn't cash it. I went ahead and deposited it in my bank account anyway, since I guess I'll need the returned check documentation from my bank in order to try this particular cashout (one of three I have pending) for the third time after two checks have bounced.

As I've said earlier, BOA deposited that shady-ass Bahamas check, then deducted it from my account 2 days later (Bank of America hasn't taken checks from the Bahamas in 10 years w/o going through collection/fees, their Foreign Transit person told me).

Verification@bodog.eu wrote me an incompetent email saying that my check image showed no stamp -- duh, Bodog's just returning it because they won't screw with it through the typical channels.

I logged into my BOA account online and the check I deposited did not go through. It was also handwritten.

This is the message :

FOREIGN ITEM ADJUSTMENT FGN ITEM(S)REJECTED.DOES
NOT QUALIFY FOR

I'm not sure exactly what that means , I am walking into the bank tomorrow first thing in the morning . I'll keep you posted .

I have a couple of questions?

1) Did they return the physical check to you?

2) Did they admit they may have not put it through correctly or at least offer alternative options?

Thank You for your Time

Dear Shill (jk, maybe... hmmm),

The alternative options involve going through collections, with fees attached (unacceptable, does anyone disagree?). The physical check should be returned in mail. I think the rest of your questions are answered by others' responses to my questions in the past few days here. Good luck, please provide updates on your situation.

"collections" is a department at BOA?

I agree that there should not be any fees, but if there isn't any other way to get BOA to pay me I'll have no choice but to accept the fees and then contact Bodog to request reimbursement of those fees.

What are you going to do?

I'm not sure how BOA handles foreign checks, but "collection"-something is what they said I'd have to do, through them, to have the check deposited (fees attached, extra time attached). When you call, they'll probably connect you to "Foreign Transit."

I'm still waiting on Bodog's response. I asked them to add the amount of this chitty Bahamas check to my pending cashout, but that might to be too easy an option for them to contemplate.

Thanks for the quick replies . I am going to go to bed so I can have the energy to deal with BOA in the morning. I will post what happens tomorrow.

Have a good night
