If checks are bouncing so often, why arent people just doing the wire transfer option? It says 2500 minimum but that seems like the only downside, just curious if anyone has done one recently and how long it took? Requested one today.

Got the money put back in my account 21st or 22nd and requested another payout. Received check today from national bank. I don't have the option to go to the issuing bank. Deposited today. I'll report back if it doesn't clear.

10/09/2011- $500 check requested.

10/18/2011- Fedex tracking and reference number received.

10/20/2011- Check received

10/21/2011- Deposited check to my savings account.

10/27/2011- Called my bank and found out the check had "insufficient funds" and they charged me $19 for returned item fee.

Bodog told me I needed to fax them a copy of the check and bank statement. I did, but I blacked out my information and account number for privacy. Here is the response I got.

Thank you for contacting Bodog Financial Services.

We have received your documentation, thank you. Upon reviewing your documents, we are unable to verify the reason why the check got rejected.

In order for us to investigate this further, we kindly ask that you send us a copy of the check with stamped reasoning or a formal letter from your Bank stating the reason why it was rejected.

Once we received the required documents, we will update you within the next 12-24 hours for an update. Do ensure that your account number is accompanied with your documentation.
So I got the check stamped with reasoning, but I'm wondering why they need my account number? Doesn't make sense why they need any information about my bank. They didn't need it the first time when they sent me a check, so why would they need it now. Sorry if this sounds silly, but I'm not used to this and I just want to make sure it is safe.

Good stuff, gotta sweat out the bounce I guess.
Same issue.

For those that aren't aware of what he's saying, when we went to cash it, the teller told us that there was some note that the max check that could be cashed immediately from that account was $2500. Since we had checks for $3000, we had to deposit it.

Bounce sweat.

They should not need your account number...did you black out your address and stuff, too? Call them, ask for a supervisor in hopes that you talk to somebody competent.

In the case of a bounced check, is it correct to believe that Bodog will still make good on the payout? I wish my biggest scores in 6 years of playing on the site didn't have to come a month or two before they were rebranding. Same thing happened to me with Full Tilt and I still haven't got that money obviously. Is anyone here actually worried about not getting their money or is it just the annoyances of check bouncing fees and delays?

there is no reason to assume Bodog=Full Tilt and it's kind of irrelevant. If they're broke and/or get indicted there's nothing you can do about it now. As I suggested earlier, you should definitely quit playing online poker until it's legal/regulated.

Is NY the only state where Western Union and Moneygram are the only cashout options?

Why can't bodog allow one Western Union or Moneygram withdraw free of charge per month? It cost between 7.5% to 20% when withdrawing funds and that is a very high fee for a site. I mean, the other 49 states can request one check free every 30 days up to $3000.

Can bodog go and offer this option? There are probably lots of NY people who aren't playing on bodog and don't bother even depositing because cashout fees are very high. I know Bodog can't send checks to NY residences because of some laws but can they try and offer one free cashout every 30 days for Western Union or moneygram? If they do this, surely they would get more people in NY to play there especially since people in NY can't even sign up for merge accounts anymore.

Thank you.

Payout $500

Requested: 10/20
Tracking Info: 10/31
Received: 11/4
Deposited: 11/4

No problems yet. The check was a Bank of Antarctica check. I'm not spending the money either way anytime soon, but I think they usually bounce after about 2 days so this one seems to be good.

It is 100% correct. You will absolutely receive your payout from bodog.eu, before or after the rebrand, whenever you request it. You're dealing with the exact same company either way, the same company that has never missed a payout, ever. Unfortunately there are payout delays/issues at times due to the US laws- this is an industry-wide challenge that bodog.eu does their best to manage.

Thanks,
Becky

Did either of you hit the triangle with the exclamation mark under the username and avatar? I did. That is how you report it to the Mods and have it taken care of.

OK it might not be an exclamation but only a black vertical line, but still...

received reply from bodog today with standard grammar:
"Please be advised that the reason for your check not
clearing was due to a recent banking error which has
now been rectified. You may now attempt redeposit this
payment to your bank without and issues."

have not received check back from bank yet but will update if
i encounter any additional problems.

I've been getting paid out via checks since black friday about 12-16 times for the max amount each time and have not had a check bounce on me during that time period.

I've had about two checks bounce on me since 2005, and one bad wire transfer in May 2011 - and bodog has always righted their wrong.

Just letting people know that although there are people getting bounced checks, there are many people who are experiencing a smooth payout experience...you're just not hearing from them.

fwiw, my experience has been basically the same although i always received wire transfers in the past, smoothly. however, within the last month they not only informed me that they cant wire to my bank anymore and i have to stagger checks at 3k max(and pay for anything >1 per month), i did receive 2 within 2 weeks time each(although they had quoted 5-7 biz days they took more like 10-12). then the third one bounced. Guess my point is that i agree that in the past bodog has been very good with payouts but at least in my experience it has gone downhill very very quickly is the last month or so.

processed: 9/23
check received: 10/10 (not 100% of the date, i was out of town)
deposited: 11/5 <---cleared as of 11/8 and i dont see any fees or bounces

requested: 10/20
processed: 10/20
check received: 11/5
deposited: 11/8 <--- says it's pending but i literally just deposited it. I'll update only if it bounces.

i waited a long time to deposit bc i was out of town. it got shipped to my actual address, and i was vacationing for a month or so. All seems kosher though

I would guess there is a good chance the first one will bounce because of the amount of time that has past.
