Not everyone opposes the new table cap. I, for one, think it's a very positive change and can't understand why any player would be against it. Anyone who has ever played on PokerStars should be able to see how destructive their high table cap is. It's good to see that 888 can see past the greed of immediate profit and wants to create a more healthy long-term business.
However, there is the point that when business decisions are made, they need to be accompanied by clear, honest announcements and the support department needs to be able to say more than "that's the way it is". I have received this sort of response on a number of occasions and it is infuriating to receive such a response. The Member Support Reps need to be told that if they don't know why a business decision was made, that they should refer the question to someone who does.
Hello
These indeed are just business decisions - 888poker constantly adjusts its table caps and rake structures to develop the poker eco-system that fits its audience best.
We have made a great amount of adjustments to tournaments and cash games in the past year to fit the specific needs of our audience.
It'd be hard to explain everything for a business standpoint, especially since every decision affects different players in a different ways. Even the table cap - yes, it means less open tables per player, effectively less hands played... but it makes the game more enjoyable for many casual players on 888poker.
We are looking into the feedback we get on 2p2 and I will be forwarding your suggestions and question to poker room managers and developers.
Best
