Among the top 48 players to get paid were Simon “Isildur1337x” Mattsson (28th - $710), “alexos888” (14th - $1,409), “Iveythasme” (6th - $3,915), and “NZhero007” (4th - $8,091).
After Charlie “chazcombes” Combes bowed out in third place for $11,223, the title came down to the UK’s Sam “sammygrinder” Grafton and Malta’s “derharry69.” After 10 hours and 34 minutes, two-time Whale winner “derharry69” came out on top to win $20,097, while Grafton had to settle for second place and a $14,877 consolation prize.
“HateH4teHate” Denies Sam Greenwood Whale Title
The $1,050 buy-in Whale easily surpassed its $50K GTD by attracting 51 players who rebought 25 times. Among those to compete for a portion of the $76,000 prize pool but come up short were 888poker Ambassador Martin “MJacobson888” Jacobson, Niklas “tutten7” Åstedt, and Charlie “chazcombes” Combes, just to name a few.

Russians Battle for Sunday GREAT 8 Title
The $88 buy-in, $10K GTD Sunday GREAT 8 drew 123 players to the virtual felt. They rebought 46 times to create a $13,520 prize pool that was paid out to the top 16 players including Sam “sammygrinder” Grafton (11th - $338), “Nemekiss” (8th - $406), Mike “Pipedream17” Dietrich (4th - $1,217), and Bryan “DePittsterje” Paris (3rd - $1,758).
The tournament came down to a pair or Russians, and after just under six hours, it was “xAmbiorix” defeating countryman “MAMOHT_T” in heads-up play to win $3,312.
“stealwave888” Weathers the Monsoon for Mother Russia
The $55 buy-in, $10K GTD Monsoon saw 199 players rebuy 41 times to create a $12,000 prize pool. That was paid out to the top 27 players including “M.Alessandro” (21st - $120), “Merfinis” (10th - $210), “Sk_k88” (5th - $720), and Bryan “DePittsterje” Paris (3rd - $1,410).
After 6 hours and 18 minutes, the title came down to Russia’s “stealwave888” and Denmark’s “botte400.” The Russian wound up the victor and took down a $2,580 first-place prize.
“summertime3” Claims Sunday Deepstack Monsoon Title for Canada
The $55 buy-in Sunday Deepstack Monsoon surpassed its $10K GD by drawing 211 players who rebought 70 times. Among the top 27 players to get paid were 888poker Ambassador Parker “888tonkaaaa” Talbot (18th - $176), “MrDrogo” (11th - $246), Sam “sammygrinder” Grafton (6th - $702.50), and “Mykeysz” (3rd - $1,651).
After 8 hours and 49 minutes, Canada’s “summertime3” defeated Austria’s “Petrollover” in heads-up play to win the top prize of $3,021.
