They had already removed the Aussie flag from the client and replaced it with the default 888 one. They also removed the fact players are from Australia from being visible at the tables, when you scroll over there names whilst playing.

It was just a matter of timing, as to when they finally removed the players as well.

Can you explain why, and if its related to the gambling legislation laws that are being discussed at the moment. Lots of aussies played there and its pathetic that as time goes on more of our freedoms are restricted. Russian players can play where they want but other countries are being cut out.

You've already answered your own question. It no doubt has everything to do with the new legislation laws.

Be prepared...It wouldn't surprise me to see other poker sites removing Aussie players in the not too distant future also.

Correct...it hasn't yet been passed (made law).

However, the amended bill was introduced into parliament at the end of last year and with holidays over / people back at work, there could be some movement on this fairly shortly.

I think 888 are doing the right thing getting out now, before the law is actually passed. That way there not caught up in the wrath of the Aussie officials who will be on the attack when it comes to any poker site still offering real money poker to Aussie players once the law changes.

888 will be free and untarnished when it comes time to seeking permission to enter the Aussie market under new laws and they will have a much better chance of approval. There also likely to get approved quicker, which will result in players from Aussie getting back on the site sooner rather than later.

It seems like you are pulling services from Australia over the next few days. I know there is legislation due to pass that will make poker online gambling illegal in Australia (with some exceptions) but it hasn't passed yet.
There are a bunch of people fighting very hard to get poker excluded from the ban (including a branch president of the liberal party). Why are you giving up so soon?

888 have limp-folded pre-flop to a min-raise (even though they already had money in the pot & were priced in on the small blind) & made a pre-emptive "head for the hills" dash, unnecessarily IMHO as they could at least wait until the Bill passes without "tarnishing" their image. No regulatory authority would punish an organization for staying in a market until a law is passed to say otherwise.

In fact, they could've increased their market-share by becoming a driving force in helping to push through the simple amendment we need to save online poker in Australia.

(Unless of course, the Bill is just the type of "business reevaluation" excuse they needed to exit the market anyway? But that's for another story.)

All the more reason to get someone from PokerStars heavily involved in the discussion, before they turn #pikers too!

Liking the new '888 club poker level' tag underneath the cashier tag in the BETA version.

One click, resulting in an 'instant' nice looking small pop-up in the client detailing a players level/points details and progress is so much better than having to wait for the old stale looking full version to load.

I've asked this before on a couple of occasions and i'll ask it again...

PLEASE do something about fixing the column rows in the client!

I have to constantly manually adjust all the columns when viewing tournaments in the main client lobby eg: Id, name, type, date, game, buy-in, status, players and when I open every single tournament lobby to see: players position, flag, name, chips etc...

What makes the situation worse is the fact that, after adjusting the columns so that they are clearly visible, they don't stay fixed like that - they revert to being how they we're and sometimes even worse than what they we're.

These things should be clearly visible and not need constant adjusting to be able to view them correctly.

No other poker site i've played on has this issue, where columns are not fixed in place and basic information isn't displaying clearly.

It's extremely time consuming and frustrating. The sooner it's sorted out the better!

If it helps, using 888Caption allows you to resize the lobby to any size you like. Just make the whole lobby wider and no more column adjusting required. It shouldn't really take third party software to make the lobby usable but that's 888 for you I guess!

Hey I won a tournament ticket on for a tournament staring on 15.1 19pm(GMT). Since it can happen I will still be in tournament when 16.1 comes can my ticket be converted to $. Also are cashouts possible after 16.1?

it kinda works but not how it should. so the DPI scaling only triggers when i set it to 150% or more but when i set 100%, 125% or 149% it stays on its smallest size all the time so there are only two modes and no linear scaling how it should be. even though some letters are very blurry when I set it to 150%.

btw i don't like the new design changes of this beta client at all. this new chatbox looks extremely bloated with its unnecessary functions.

if you leave it like that you kinda force people who multi table to no longer use the chat at all because of the enormous extra space it needs on the display.

i dont get it, for me it doesn't make any sense to make the chat box bigger and at the same time you propose to the people to use this stupid new comment-buttons suggesting them to write only brainless comments like fish/sheep/donk/ty/lol. it seems like you made these buttons for 5years old or for people who had a lobotomy, so they can also communicate with each other.

i highly recommend you to just leave the chat box in its bottoms left corner as decent and small as it is. it's perfect that way.

there is guy King_Zemanel who sits out 4th everytime he is in lobby, waiting for fish and never plays. he always ignores requests to play or leave and its lasting for ages.

pls, impose sanctions, maybe ban his for few days so he finally starts following rules

Table after table you have to tell him to play and he just won't answer, it's really tilting and frustrating.
