Long story short....about 15 years ago I asked pokerstars in a drunk email to close my account because I was losing. I regretted it the next day and they never reopened my account. Every year I would ask them to reconsider and I get refused, when stars bought Tilt I told them "look I'm playing on Tilt responsibly" and they closed my account there too. Fast forward some time, I have taken a huge hiatus away from gambling, and my life has changed in several ways (kids grown up, lack of financial responsibility, better job, better poker player etc.) I tried to reopen several older accounts but they have all told me because I am not allowed to play on a "sister site" I can no longer play there....pretty much every site I want to play on seems to under control of the same company, Paddy power say I can't play there because my account at Sky is locked, Sky say I can't play there because my account at Poker stars is locked, Betfair say I can't play there because my account at Paddy Power is locked, Pokerstars refuse to comment but flat out lie and tell me having a locked account there does not restrict me playing anywhere else.

What has happened?

The UK gambling comission has recently passed so many laws to prevent people being able to play poker, I play on two crap sites just now and I am limited to being able to deposit £100 a month on the sites. I want to be playing pokerstars (they have the market) and I especially want to be playing online satellites for live events which currently I'm forced to pay full price for.... (this has included several Pokerstars run events aswell so they clearly have no qualms taking my rake live).

Can someone from Pokerstars please help put an end to this nonsense, enough is enough, enough time has passed, the UKGC will see to it that I can't exactly lose much money anyway, so it is pointless to uphold this lock on my account when gambling in UK is infinitely more safer for problem gamblers than it ever was, and I definitely no longer consider myself in that bracket having not done any wreckless online gambling for over 10 years now...

Closing your account for being a losing drunk and blaming stars you can't play online is so hilarious. I mean if online poker gave out darwins you will win every year.

Once upon a time in your life you posted a message that actually helped someone, and it might even help me too. The other 99.9% of your posts have been read by no one.

As you point out with current legislation in your country no company wants someone that will have a lawsuit against them if they lose. Pokerstars is not lying to you; a locked account on Polerstars does not legally require other sites to restrict you, but does create the legal threat they knew and let you play.

I live in the uk, we don’t sue people. If I could afford a lawsuit I wouldn’t be so desperate to play on a site which is going to give me a deposit limit of £200 a month anyway.

And yes, not having an account on Pokerstars DOES prevent me playing several other sites because they are all now under the Flutter group organisation.

Consider this…

“ PokerStars, Sky Betting & Gaming, Paddy Power Online and Betfair are part of the Flutter Group.

We work together to ensure safety measures that enhance customer protection and the right level of service across all our products.

Until June 8, 2022, we've been aligning our self-exclusion policies and procedures within the Flutter Group. Therefore, if you have self-excluded yourself before that date on another brand, your PokerStars account might not have been affected.

However, since we've found you were permanently self-excluded with another brand within the Flutter Group, we can't allow you to access our services.”

And I receive a similar story from the other brands, and they were not permanently excluded, they were closed due to gamstop which gave me a 5 year break from gambling. In that time, all this has changed (eg. Stars used to be rational, 2p2 used to be sklanksy and malmuth) and Pokerstars are ruining it for the sites where I am not permenat excluded.
