I needed to come in here and give
review ver 2.0 for Gray.
The guy knows adjustment and combined with his knowledge of the fundamentals of MTTs (trust me they are the same fundamentals expensive software like Pio and the likes of HRC are built upon) he is on a different level when it comes to navigating volumes of MTT poker.
I have a thread on pg&c where you can see the runs and progress in a wager. I have started playing on Indian sites and in a 24-30hr period FT'd 11 times or there abouts and a couple of FT bubbles (after some coaching specifically for those sites from Gray) and the deep runs just keep coming including a 2nd in the Big 22 40K a couple days ago but most importantly - these runs have reduced variance between big scores drastically.
No more double black diamond slope downswing after hitting a big one. It's more like fortifying that win with applying the same work ethic and not just taking shots at big BIs etc. The usual BRM stuff a lot of regs and recs forget for a while after a big score.
Gray's coaching is excellent. Sometimes I have the last table of a session and 15-20bb and feel demotivated and B, C game is about to creep in before I hear Gray's voice from some session a week ago and suddenly, win or loose, I spring back to A game.
Essentially what happened in the Big 22....I passed a lot of marginal spots and even somewhat standard jam spots because I have been taught to value my stack to even 1BB by Gray and was on a soft table draw. Eventually did win a flip the hard way and never looked back.
In fact as soon as this happened, the following is what I wrote in a Skype study group I have with 2 friends. This about the time when 400 odd players are still left in the game.
The RNG GOAT is actually referring to what we call in Indian sites 'RRRNG' Random Runner Runner Number Generator because oh my days do you get some strange things happening on those sites that happen like once in 6 months on Stars. So what do you know, Gray has tweaked my strat for these tournaments based on a couple HHs we reviewed - Great adjustment!
Gray's psychological aspect of approaching a player when questioning ranges and trying to discern their logic for any spot and any play is by far the easiest way to ladder up the levels of MTT strategies from basic to advanced.
