Hi guys,

This coaching thread is meant for aspiring low-stakes poker players who seek long-term guidance to elevate their poker careers, with the goal of progressing to mid-stakes.

About Me
I've been a professional poker player since 2014, currently playing 100nl-1000nl as long as I find profitable tables. Throughout my career, I've been involved in various coaching projects, both as a coach and a student, including BestPokerCoaching and HoldemTrainer. During this time I've worked with (former) high stakes players, mindsetcoaches, hypnotherapists (you name it, I tried it ), to gain understanding of what it takes to be a professional poker player.

Currently I mainly work with my own students and peers, a high stakes coach and my performance psychologist. I only work with people based on the same type of values in life. (curious, openminded, focused on learning and non-judgmental)

I enjoy poker, I enjoy helping people and I enjoy building communities; hence Team6max was born in 2021. After successfully testing my program with a few pokerfriends I'm ready to grow my team with a few carefully selected low stake students.

My Poker Philosophy
I believe in simplicity; clean & simple strategies executed as often as possible. A bit like the Bruce Lee quote: "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times."

Consistency in routines (preparation, performance & recovery) and thus a complete improvement cycle is most important. So yup, becoming successful at poker is pretty boring and there's no way around it: just keep putting in the time and keep improving yourself.

I do believe in a GTO-baseline (so we will work with GTO-Wizard), but understanding and exploiting our opponents tendencies is far more important than finding that genius rivercall with the perfect blockers(upto midstakes no-one hit the right frequencies). All of our profit still comes from the recreational player. Once you adapt the right mindset around this topic your winrate will increase pretty easy, pretty fast.

Coaching
I believe in personal responsibility. I can help you find your inner motivation so that you show up every day as your best version. But in the end YOU are responsible for your journey. I don't care how often you quit, tilt or fall back into old patterns. I won't judge you for it. But it is important you are brutally honest with yourself. What do you want and how do we get you there?
  • We start with an intake. (you first fill in a questionnaire, send your database and a live video play, after that we have a 1 on 1 call)
  • Then we create a simple performance plan. (consisting of a yearly calendar, your (poker) goals, study plan and a personal daily journal)
  • Then we have weekly 1on1 coaching based on your needs and I give you suggestions for homework.
  • As extra we have a discord group where you can ask questions and discuss hands in the group, and a studyserver you can use in your own time.
Pricing
I understand very well that coaching is expensive, especially if you play low stakes.

That's why I charge 1 buyin per hour (max 50 euro, also if you play higher than 50nl) per stake you play. This doesn't mean I just accept any 10nl player for 10 euro, only if I see potential and I feel we click I will add you to my team.

Requirements?
  • 1 coaching per week. 25 hours per week of your time.
  • A good attitude (good communication, honoust, coachable, openminded, curious)
  • Just don't quit (sorry, no quitters in my team)

Wishing you all the best with your poker pursuits.
