Friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. Qing as advertised was an excellent coach with good understanding of theory that he can put in laymen terms for his students.

Has given me a fresh perspective on the game and how I study and approach it.

Just finished a 10 hour package with Qing and couldn't be happier. I had very little experience with solvers but Qing helped me get to a place where I understand the solver's strategy and how to think about deviating from GTO based on opponents/player pools.

Prior to working with Qing, I didn't have a clear plan as to how to study and improve as a player. After working with Qing, I feel like I have a clear plan as to how to continue improving as a player based on the concepts he teaches + his approach to studying/drilling.

Qing himself is incredibly knowledgeable. He has a framework for how each hour with him is spent, but his expertise in teaching and solvers really showed when I would ask an off-the-cuff question and he would almost instantly have an answer + solver examples to illustrate why.

This 10h package was a blast.
Qing is super sharp, a really nice guy, always available and on time.
He backs up and demonstrates every single concept he teaches.
He doesn't stop at the "why" of what's going on in equilibrium, he will explain what it implies when it comes to possible exploits.
To me the real value in this coaching package is that it gives you a solid framework for thinking about and working on poker in general.
You can absolutely trust this to be very +EV.

Hi - I just finished a 10-session coaching package with Qing Yang - it was an excellent experience and I strongly recommend it.

My poker background: I'm a recreational player who plays primarily in private games. I learnt poker a couple years ago, and was a generally winning player at low stakes (up to 2-5 in Las Vegas) and at live games with friends who were ~decent but had relatively significant leaks. I primarily got better at poker via the Upswing Lab materials; I reached a point where I felt I felt like I had figured out the basics of the game (memorizing preflop ranges, learning how to adjust them a little bit in live games, getting a basic understanding of what bluffs make sense to check-raise with etc) and had somewhat plateau-d in my journey. The obvious next step to getting better was to start using solvers, but I found myself pretty lost when attempting to do this: fundamentally, I didn't really understand "why" the solver played the way it did and even once I saw a solution that made sense, I didn't really understand how to incorporate it into my game.

My sessions with QY were extremely helpful: QY first explains the right way to incorporate solvers into your game, and how to look out for spots where you are able to exploit leaks effectively (also spots where you can't do that). He then goes over multiple key concepts (usually 1 per lesson) that collectively explain the primary reason why solvers play a certain way, using toy games and real examples to illustrate them. Learning these concepts was an eye-opening experience that sort of changed how I see poker. QY is also an excellent teacher and is happy to answer any questions you have during the lessons. QY was also always very professional and easy to interact with. All in all, I feel like this course was more than worth it (and I can already see some of the effects in my results).

I just finished my 10-hour coaching package with QY and would like to share my review with prospects or anyone who’s interested in working with QY.

I realized after 2 sessions that I want to extend my package from 6 hours to 10 hours.
- QY has blown me away with its structure, precise explanation of the concepts, and number of SIMS that proves his words
- QY will show you why people misunderstand certain concepts, and illustrate SIMs to prove the ideas and logic
- Almost every session I was blown away by the information and presentation of it

QY won't just show dry GTO theory, QY will make these concepts fun, easy to apply and demonstrate all subsequent exploits that could be derived from it
- Every concept was easy enough to implement
- All concepts come with exploits that you can leverage vs specific types of opponents
- All concepts are meant to be taught how to study on your own, ensuring that you apply them on the right boards vs. appropriate opponents

Many of us think we know GTO, we assume that we know how to exploit opponents and many of us are taught the wrong GTO ideas.
- It’s guaranteed that QY will open your eyes to common misconceptions or will be able to identify the leak in your poker thought process
- QY uses questions to pick up your brain about certain spots, concepts and ideas to understand where he needs to start his explanation journey

Lastly, I highly recommend hiring QY if you are looking to explore advanced GTO concepts, improve your exploit game and learn how to study poker on your own.

First lesson is in the books with Qing and it was everything I hoped for and more! We went over indifference spots and thresholds. Can't wait for lesson #2 tonight.

His YouTube videos will show you how good he is at explaining things. https://www.youtube.com/@PokerGiraffe/videos

I worked with some good coaches prior to this and if you want to learn the theory and how to think for yourself using a solver (highly recommend GTOWizard) then give Q a shot!

I contacted QY seeking a deeper theoretical understanding to apply to my own game (HUNLH) and provide a foundation to start exploring 6-max.

I could tell from his RIO and YouTube videos that he was skilled at presenting complex ideas in clear terms, finding patterns, and exploring and articulating reasons affecting the EV of different actions in various parts of the game tree.

In beginning to explore 6-max, I anticipate getting overwhelmed by the variety of configurations, so it’s important to me to have theoretical foundations that gives me flexibility and adaptability in applying logic in unfamiliar territory.

I had a great time learning from QY over 10 sessions. He has a clear love for the game and knows how to translate his knowledge into digestible portions and memorable concepts [including great little ms paint diagrams]. Even the way he uses the solver in a dynamic process-oriented manner modelled a way of interacting with it which I will carry forward with me.

A high-quality learning experience with a good bloke. Thanks.

After finishing the 10h-pack with QY, these are my thoughts.

I think QY is right, in that very few coaches offer what he does, and I don't think that is a coincidence. I think very few coaches think like he does. Lots of good players have an intuitive understanding of some concepts he discusses (eg when betting for protection is good vs not), but it's a different thing to internalize a deep understanding of exactly what drives these spots.

QY's package is designed with the old idiom in mind: give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day; teach a man to fish, he'll eat for a lifetime.

What's really crazy is that despite only studying a few hours here and there since QY's lessons, the framework alone has changed my results, and the nature of my results. I'm a player who has made all of his money in the last six months exploiting one fact: most nodes are overfolded. My redline went up at 2x and my blue line went down at 1x. Over the last 35k hands, I'm seeing blue line up at 2x and red line at 0x, generating a much higher winrate. Obviously, some of that is just sample, but just the framework alone is enough for me to start thinking about the game in a more fundamentally sound way.

In the long run, I think the last 90m with QY alone, where (among other things) he explains how he works with GTO Wizard personally, will pay for the entire package in terms of my time and profits.

Lastly, he's really just a great guy. Polite, considerate, and attentive. He builds a relationship with his students. That matters.

I haven't tried out all the best coaches in the world, obviously. But is QY worth it? Yes, definitely.

Its been an amazing experience working with Qing. 10h package was a steal deal for the value that he offered. I have learnt a very simple and effective way to use GTO Wizard/PIO without getting lost in the solver lands. I realized its very important to filter out the noise and focus on the metrics which add direct value to the EV. QY has taught some very good concepts like mirroring and thinking in terms of opponent's mistakes. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enhance their theoretical understanding of the game.

I finished the course with QY, I have to say he is a really great coach, conceptually and humanly. He really cares for your progress, you can feel it, that he wants you to become better and understand these concepts which he is teaching you, he wants you to have these AHA moments where you suddenly understand what is going on in poker.
I really regret that I came across QY that late, because he transformed my game in way I never thought it was possbile, these concepts he is teaching you and the HOW he illustrates them is just so unique and crushing, after the second lesson I immediately understood how different things work, and implemented it at the next day at the poker table, the money I paid was 100% worth it, I already won that money back in live poker, I was struggling in the lowstakes live poker and now I am crushing the midstakes in live poker, I play there with such a confidence, because I understand the game now much deeper.
So many things look so complicated in the solver and he crushed it, by explaining for me what the solver is doing and why in a very simple way, and suddenly these solver outputs makes sense and doesnt look so complicated anymore. I really bombed him with questions and even beginner questions, and he answered all of them for me with patience and kindness and humbleness.
In these sessions we went over many spots where he taught me the DIFFERENCE between strategies on different situations and boards and how these different situations still follow the same concepts, its just this simple unique way how he showed me examples on these concepts, where I suddenly understood this content in a deep perspective, on things which confused me in the past. I never thought about bet QQ as a bluff instead of checking it down, or bet big with 3rd pair or bet small with a nutish hand, or in which situations I can increase my betsizing or where I have to decrease my betsizing, and there are so many more nuances and details he taught me in only 12 hours its just incredible. QY Thank you so much for your incredible coaching and for your patience, kindness and humbleness, I had many great insights because of you and your revived my pokerdream!!!!!!!

Finished the 10h coaching with QY. As a beginning poker player, I wanted to learn from a top player to streamline my improvement as fast as possible and I was not disappointed. I really felt I got the value out of what I paid for if not more.

Going into the coaching I could tell he has a lot of knowledge and deep understanding about the game. In addition to that, he is very friendly and a good teacher, using analogies and questions to keep you engaged and retain the information. He has a structured plan going into each lesson so that little time will be wasted but also no problem adjusting the plan to topics I wanted to focus more on. What I got out of coaching was a framework of how solvers work which will continue help me throughout my poker journey. I no longer feel like I have no clue what IÂ’m looking at when I open a solver when poker was very confusing to me as a noobie before this. I feel that some of the concepts were so profound that I felt it couldÂ’ve only been discovered by someone doing countless hours of solver work which IÂ’m alone would save me years of time compared to learning the game on my own. IÂ’m confident IÂ’ve learned concepts that I wouldnÂ’t have learned from any other coach which would be a huge edge against the population. It was a pleasure to learn from one of the best in the field and I can highly recommend QY for coaching.

Okay I finished now my 10 hour Package with QY and this was like so worth the Money. Its like he giving you a way to learn on your own so after the 10 hour package you will be so much better as a pokerplayer and also have the tools to improve even further. So whats really nice he will not go to a Solution and will teach you boring Stuff like we need to check this at this Frequency bla bla bla he will teach you literally why the sim is like the sim is and also will teach you how to exploit most common leaks of population for example when they raise to equity driven. So its really something you can do in reality. So for me it was like really worth the money I wish I would have made it earlier it would have saved me a lot of money tbh, because of the many mistakes I did before the Coaching. He is also a really nice person and friendly this is like also important. Because its so much easier to learn from someone who is friendly to you then someone who isnt at least for me its like that.
So I tried also like other coaches in the past ofc they were not bad but tbh QY was definetly the best and by far the best.
So yeah I would just recommend him.

I completed 10 hours of coaching from QY and I 100% recommend taking him on as a coach if you're looking to get a good understanding on theory. His lessons are structured via every session being focused around a particular concept or content, some of which is supplemented with videos & worksheets you must complete after sessions. His teaching style is engaging as he'll often propose an idea/spot and ask you why things are the way they are in order to get to the underlying reasons and concepts; additionally he will answer any questions you have in the moment or after sessions on Discord.

I always felt comfortable expressing my thoughts or questions to QY because I got the sense he would meet me at my level of understanding. There are no dumb questions with QY as the saying goes. And I'm sure because I asked a lot of them.

Without wanting to mention any content which he covers in the coaching, I'll just say I came away feeling capable in understanding how/why the solver constructs its strategies and how to use solvers to study the game.

Hello

I booked the 10 session package with QY and was very pleased with the results. He is able to explain complex concepts in simple, easy to understand ways and uses lots of different analogies to make his points. As the comment above says, QY does a very good job of meeting you at your level of understanding and tailoring the lessons to you, even within a relatively structured 10 lesson package. There was no stupid questions and he was good at adjusting his lessons on the fly to answer any questions I had.

On top of this he is easy to get along with and communicates well. I would highly recommend QY's coaching and of the 3-4 coaches I have hired in my life he is by far my favourite and excellent value for money.

I think that the problem of learning poker is effectively reducible to finding good heuristics and learning how to execute them. Solvers are obviously a helpful tool for this but if the information gleaned by them is fragmented they are of little help. Qi gives an excellent framework for translating the raw output of solvers into meaning - in both the sense that he gives you his own heuristics and he reveals processes for discovering new ones. Excellent investment for anyone looking to improve their game (I bought 10 video sessions).

I have to say that I want to give Qing a good review on everything that he is doing. He's clearly very knowledgeable about poker, very fair about information and helps you also in a discord chat.

I highyl recommend for anyone trying to play poker seriously and or for a living to really contact and seek really good players like Qing to help in the future. He is well worth the investment to improve your game. His rates are also very fair as well, for what you get, for a very high level player and thinker like Qing. There are coaches that charge way more than him and do not provide as much content or information as he does. Also when we did our sessions for one hour we routinely went over the hour consistently and he did not hold me to the minute.

I would suggest for anyone who is thinking about trying out with Qing that they do so, some of his (free) youtube content is also very good.

I Have just completed my 10 hour package with QY and the whole course from the very first lesson to the last lesson has been an amazing eye opening experience. QY is excellent at breaking the game down into what is important and what is just noise, he then explains the important topics to you through analogy's, sims, and other material giving you all the tools you need to succeed long into the future.

QY is easy going and never once did i feel pressured or silly for saying the wrong thing his manner is perfect for the learning process

The biggest joy of the course for me was noticing as QY taught me and I did the work he set out over the weeks I could feel my own mental framework building and topics that once were hard to grasp became second nature,

Thanks QY (Iain)

I booked a 10 session package and had a great experience working with QY. He's super sharp and has a great way of breaking things down. I was an amateur when it came to studying game theory, but he is very capable of teaching anyone of any skill level. What I noticed right away is it seems like he quickly gets how you learn and adapts to it. So if there's something you're not getting, he's has a great ability to explain it in a way that you will understand best.

He genuinely enjoys teaching, he's not just trying to earn a buck. Our sessions would typically last an hour but if we're in the middle of something he always finishes explaining it and isn't stressed if the lesson goes over by ~10 minutes. He has a discord group where a bunch of students post questions and he answers them publicly too so there's more value added besides what you get in a session with him.

Very nice guy too, highly recommend.

I recently completed the 10-hour coaching package with QY, and I wholeheartedly
agree with the sentiments expressed by previous posters in this thread.

If you enjoy QY's YouTube, RunItOnce or GTOWiz videos, you'll love the coaching sessions.
Over the course of those 10 hours, QY lays out the fundamental GTO principles, how
to study/drill them and how to apply them exploitatively in practice.

Beyond the exceptional poker content, QY is a genuinely pleasant and friendly guy.
He was always attentive and considerate during our sessions.

In summary, I can highly recommend QY as a poker coach.
