Hi, my name is Jan Philippi. I´m a psychologist, psychotherapist in training, mindfulness teacher and former 10-year poker-pro and I help players to improve their mindset.

By now you probably know that a strong mindset is what separates the winners from the losers in today’s extremely competitive poker world. As strategical edges become smaller and smaller, the mental aspect of poker becomes more important. But my coaching is not only about performance at the poker tables, it´s about improving your life in general.

If you want to get rid of your tilt issues, gain stable confidence, develop a healthy, balanced lifestyle and maybe most importantly long-lasting motivation, my coaching program is for you.

I have coached more than 100 players (+ close to 100 executives in the corporate world) including well-known high stakes pros, though most of them are rather unknown mid- and highstakes crushers.

In addition I have produced 50 Mental Game Videos for the PLO Mastermind and recently signed with RunItOnce, for which I have produced 8 videos and a 4-part seminar so far. In these videos I talk about dealing with tilt but also about "general life skills" like changing bad habibts, living healthy, staying focus, making good decisions and using poker as a tool to improve your life.

I just launched my own channel: https://youtu.be/SBD5gPJh8rU

If you look for "JNandez Jan Philippi" on YouTube, you will also find many of our free livestreams, that give you a good idea of my methods and my views on the psychological aspects of poker and life. For more references you can check my ProvenExpert account. But I think the free videos on YouTube and the videos in the member sections on the two training sites will give you a much better idea of what my coaching looks like and if it can help you.

Especially in 2022 my clients have had absolutely insane results while also starting to live a more balanced life. Three of the PLO players moved up from PLO 50/100 to 400-2k within a few months.

One of the biggest plusses of my coaching program: You can get access to an exclusive peer group of super motivated players, who are all working on their mental game intensly. As the group grows and live events become more popular again we will also definately do live meetups in the future to connect the group even more.

If you are interested, we can schedule a free call, where we find out what your goals are, how you can achieve them and if I´m the right coach for you.

Regards, Jan

Basic Info:

The minimum is 12 hours of coaching @ 2750€
24 hours of coaching + Lifetime Access to the peergroup @4900€

The ONLY way to deal with tilt. Most players have one or both of two unhealthy ways to deal with bad runs. they either run away from their problems (long breaks) or they try to brute force their way through it (chase losses, play way longer than they should). both don't work. Here is what works:

Hi Jan

I live in Ontario which is geofenced online and have been doing very well playing part-time for eight months at 200nl plus softer 500nl and 1knl tables. Up 35k @ 7bb/100 over 140k h.

I am also studying to become a therapist; doing an MA in Psychology + beginning practicum with a psychodynamic-focused psychologist in September.

I have taught academic subjects for a long time and would like to develop a coaching practice over the long term. While I don't think I am qualified to charge a lot at the moment, I am trying to gain experience with struggling players, coaching at a very affordable rate.

You mentioned on your podcast that you launched a business about coaching itself, so I was very curious to hear more about that.
I was also wondering if you might be willing and able to share any academic articles or books that you found helpful in psychological coaching for poker, specifically.

I know it is not tempting to respond to questions when you are quite busy, but I would greatly appreciate it. You will probably hear from me over the next couple of years in terms of buying your time to develop my career.

Thanks and thanks and thanks!

Hi Collie,

that's awesome to hear. I love supporting people in going their own way and taking the first step into the "unsafe" world of self-employment (10x "safer" in reality imo).

All of the books I read are non-poker specific. I get most of my methods from ACT, CBT, Mindfulness and Positive Psychology.

The CBT books I read were all in German, so probably not helpful for you. For CBT I can simply recommend the "standard" book by Judith Beck.

Most of my Mindfulness practice comes from attending MBSR and MBSC courses. My favourite book on it is the teachers book by Bob Stahl. Can't find the english version unfortunately, I read it in german.

I'd recommend going through one method/school at a time and not mixing to many methods in the beginning. There's an unlimited amount of good literature, so try not to get FOMO and take it slow.

I would absolutely love to help you launch your business, so if you are interested in the full package (coaching methods and marketing), best send me an e-mail.

By now I have 25 videos on RunItOnce, available through the Essential membership at only 29$.

This is by far the cheapest and easiest way to start working on your Mental Game.

And if you have been considering mental coaching for a long time, but don't know exactly what it looks like or how it might help you, watching my videos will give you a very good impression.
