I', Sergio, better known online as Donk Orleone. I play online high stakes professionally. I'm also a GTOWizard coach and have done hundreds of hours of 1on1 coaching with dozens of students.
I believe a lot of coaching to be pretty bad value for the following reasons:

• Poker is a sport, not a science. You can't math your way into being good at the game
• Intuition can't be taught

How I try to overcome these problems:

• My job is not to take you somewhere you couldn't get to by yourself. It's to show you the direction and speed up the process 10 fold
• The core of my coaching has to do with method, not with specifics
• I care most about setting up habits that will build your skill up over long periods of time

My playstyle and framework:

• Self-awareness is the #1 skill to develop. Poker is mostly a battle against our own emotions
• A strong and simple GTO foundation that focuses on "practical unexploitability" as opposed to theoretical unexploitability. Developing this requires a lot of work at the individual level
• "Practical exploits" as opposed to theoretical exploits. We need to focus on what we know/have a strong belief in and avoid clogging our mental bandwidth with low EV thoughts/feelings

There are multiple different succesful ways of playing poker, and mine is just one of them.
Disclaimer: This playstyle is tailored towards tough pools with known names, there are other better frameworks for anonymous games or soft pools and there are better coaches for those purposes.

Right now I offer 2 services, database review and "mentorship" program.
Database Review:

• Price: $500
• Time: 60 min
• Structure: You send me your last hand histories (Usually 100k at least) and I go in depth into what your leaks are and give you pointers towards fixing them

Mentorship Program:

• Price: $9600
• Time: 24x60 min sessions across 6 months
• Requires going through an aptitude test
• You can get the initial database review for $500 and pay the remaining $9100 if you decide to continue
• Structure:
  --- I will lay down my entire approach
  --- 12 hours on theory
  --- 2 Database reviews (at start and end)
  --- Around 3 hours on HUD use
  --- 3 hours on MDA principles
  --- 1 hour on note taking and usage
  --- 2 hours on self assesment, self awareness, mental game and habit building
  --- It is expected that you will study and work on these concepts 10 times harder on your own time

OP has a good understanding of theory given his posts in the theory section. Some of his posts give very good heuristics for certain spots and that would be very useful to any student. I'm sure he'd make a great coach.

What if a student can only afford one lesson? What would that entail?

Also, if student only has 80k hands in their database because they are new to online, and have been trying different styles out throughout their run?

80k is enough hands, even less the more blatant the mistakes are.
even if you try different styles you are probably carrying over leaks due to misunderstanding certain spots.

In one session we would go over all of your major leaks on every street and I'd give you "homework" to work on them

What would you say is the minimum number of hands a student should have logged in order for a database review to be useful?

I appreciate it probably depends on a lot of variables, but are you able to give a rough ballpark figure?

Around 40k-50k hands is enough to see big trends and leaks. Keep in mind we're not trying to solve 3% deviations in some obscure node deep in the tree, we're trying to fix the most blatant leaks to have a good foundation before getting into the nuance

I went with the 4 session package and have no regrets. So far Aner0 has done an awesome job finding my leaks in my 40K sample, and I'm making money in spots I wasn't before, so it's easy to see how the stuff he's taught me is only going to boost my winrate. His approach to the game matches what I was looking for quite well. Like he said, he's not teaching you to memorize solver outputs, but what your own leaks are and how to spot and exploit those leaks in your opponents, but it's all grounded in solid theory. Good stuff. Even for a slightly more experienced player like me, there's always something that can be learned, and having a fresh set of eyes on your play never hurts.

I like the idea of looking at EVs before you re-run nodelocekd sim. It gives much clearer picture what real EVs might be.

Yeah, it's pretty dope. It has some limitations aswell, since neither player is playing true equilibrium on future nodes and we would possibly have a plan to apply more exploits down the line, but as with everything in solvers, if you take it with a grain of salt and understand the limits of your model, it's really helpful

Picked up aner0's 4 pack lesson plan a bout 6 weeks ago. I've had 2 of my 4 sessions so far and they've been fantastic. The first was a general database review where we went over my stats vs PIO and ways to correct some of my leaks. The second session was tailored towards different types of fish and how best to recognize their tendencies as well as ways we can exploit those tendencies.

Each session is roughly 90 minutes. aner0 is friendly, chatty and easy to talk to. He'll ask questions trying to get me to think about how I can adjust my ranges vs different types of players (ie - opening wider / tighter, 3betting more / less, when to flat / when not to flat). His mspaint skills are on point as well

Aner0 is a brilliant coach, I couldn't recommend him more. From the 2 sessions we've done so far we've reviewed my hand database to look at where my leaks are, and then looked at types of fish and how to exploit them. Not a single second of your time is wasted as his sessions are very well planned out. I've realized the more I talk to him the less I know and need to learn.

I should have invested in Aner0's coaching a long time ago, and I recommend you do the same now as he is revealing things that I would never have learned from online coaching websites otherwise.
